Once upon a time in a Hotel name Formosa,a careless friend drops a few stacks of S$50 (amounting to S$3k+ in cash) and goes back up his room w/o realising it,until the receptionist picks it up and send it back to his room around 30 mins later. The receptionist's name is Kusno which i will NEVER forget.

Kusno is a great guy, but not the only one. And the ladies too. Always smiling and willing to help. As a result, after my first time there, I never wanted to venture trying other hotels in Nagoya. That's my home in Batam.
I always leave cash in my room and I never found anything missing. Danger does not come from the house keeping, but from the unknown people you might invite to your room...
Yes,please come soon...i think your 3some reports are good. Not the description part on how you do it with them tho,hehehe...but the part on how you manage to actually CONVINCE your 2 girls to do so. You are by far the ONLY person in this thread (over the last 2 years) who keep having a higher success rate on 3some in Batam (i noticed).
I am learning.
It's because I do not report fails
(More stories in my earlier reports on ISG.)
However, something that worries me is that rooms there dont seem to have inroom safe deposit box. I guess you have to use the safety box at the reception. Putting aside the inconvenience of going to the reception desk everytime you need to put/take something, the more pressing issue is how reliable is the reception desk. They can just open your box and empty you wallet
Hi bro, there is nothing wrong having doubts if it is a 1st time to a new place (and you are asking nicely). Please allow me to have an illustration. Lets say you didnt go to Batam, but to another 3rd world country,3rd world city, you enter any named hotels and they have a safety deposit,do you really think it will be safe enough? Ever wonder how the hotel staffs were able to open your in-room safe deposit box when you happen to lose your password for the safe? Yes,that also means hotel staffs (or someone else) were able to open your in-room safe box when you are not in-room. I dont think the hotel management will dump the safe deposit box away if a guest happens to lose the safe's password tho.
Be a little street-smart during travelling, never put all eggs in one basket and it is a traveler's personal responsibility to keep their valuable safe. My self-created personal safe deposit box for your reference during travel :
i know i may look stupid showing you the pic above (people who saw it before says so),but it is my option,my choice to keep my valuable things safe. There are of course other methods, but i am only showing one of the pic (which was shown before in my previous summaries) to try to bring my message across.
You may wish to read my Batam travelling experience and the other good bros's experience on my signature link.
Hope it helps.

Yes,thats my main worry too,my "personal safe box" cannot fit my laptop in...lol. Thats why i only book girls from reliable joints or massage places and only stayed in rooms where a surveillance camera is pointed directly at my door. Even for hotels with in-room laptop safe,it will be very inconvenient to bring the lappy in and out. I also have the tendency to leave my girl room-alone with one room key (and laptop inside room) while i steps out to enjoy,hehehe....so again, that doubles my risk.
This part,i can only try to minimize the risk by not taking Freelancers (FL) off the streets/disco/pubs/bars and girls from wechat/BBM etc. If i were to take them,i will need to be extra wary,hehehe...
Passport and some cash,i always leave it at the reception. I trust the reception in Formosa Hotel more than my girl/s,hehehe...

It is always a risk leaving cash in the room.
But I always did it....when travelling overseas.
I definitely cant carry all the cash with me when Im out of the room...
What if I get robbed?
So I always leave some cash in my backpack n hid it inside the closet.
Just pray the room cleaners will have clean hands.

Yes, I remember staying in a china hotel n found the safety deposit box not there even though the recep say there is one.
After some phone calls....got a guy come to my room carrying a safety box!!
Its heavy but he is big size.
Seeing the way he can carry the box with ease....I also abit worried putting my valuables there.
I guess it is always good to do like what you say....distribute the cash in many places in the room.
Bro Nono....I seen the pic of your self made deposit box.....
just wonder how much time you need to knock off the tile?
I wanted to try IndoRasa cuz Nono claimd they r better than KEYZHA..but I forgot where IndoRasa is so i park my motorbike at the Back of DC Mall.
Erm...hehehehe...if i stay in Formosa Hotel and if i am a superman,i walked to Tea Story restaurant and throw a stone at the massage shop called Relax, opposite Formosa Hotel. The stone hit Relax and went thru Relax Massage,it will hit Indo Rasa,hehehe...
If you wish to try Indo Rasa, please be aware that the ambiance is really really not good. Becos i dont frequently use strong word like "BAD",i have others who misunderstood and thought "no good" means acceptable,hehehe... I usually order the masseur to go my hotel for the in-room massage. Alternatively, you can rent a hotel room in Indo Rasa hotel for 3 hours at 100k,fyi. Massage price is 50k/hr,70k/1.5hr and 100k for 2 hr.
Will update more details in my coming 16th Batam trip summary.

Definitely a good place for a quickie.Well, other than its ambiance (again). If you think Princess Massage ambiance not good, you will need to prepare your mindset for a worse situation on Indo Rasa massage for the future. To me,Indo Rasa offers better quality massage with mostly MILF. They also offer something called the coin massage which is similar to Gua Sha. I dont know about charges (i think its free if you ask for it instead of Traditional Massage),you will have to ask the "auntie" aka masseur,hehehe...
It will leave temporary marks on your back like below (for about a week or so) :
Dont worry,it wont hurt a bit,and its very relaxing. But i can look much more uglier than the pic above. Yes,much much uglier....lol.

I would say the same too (worth the 200k). I find them a little better than Keyza or Ocean in terms of piano massage (if i compare piano against piano),minus the ambiance of course.

Actually if u are looking for a VIP room w a bathtub, Yes there is. I went there late morning and had the "luxury" to choose which "VIP" room i want. The "VIP" rooms are 2 floors up & alphabetically named. The 1st 3 rooms nearest to the stairs all have bathtubs, but i''m not sure if u really want to use them. U will be lucky even if they changed the bed sheets.
Jus came back from batam 3d2n trip, my second time.
consider me a newbie as i nv travel via walking much like nono1973.
i can say me n fren both are lucky from our 1st trip to met a nice driver, bring us to wherever we want, we treat him dinner and drinks so as to not kena chop by locals, as we both like seafood too.
1st trips is always the testing trip whereby u may use more money. However this time round our expenses only $450sgd (hotel ferry included)
Day 1 : as its friday afternoon, as you know indon-malay will go pray. So the popular nasi padang place is closed. So Anton (taxi driver) brought us to another location. After makan we are still early for hotel and so Anton bring us to a fuckhouse which stunned us (thats our intention for this trip but somehow it's damn early like 1pm only). Bunga massage is the one he bring us to and range from SYT (to me not SYT at all LOL) to middle group and Olders ones. $$ 1m(middle to olders) - 1.5m(SYT). Guaranteed by white hair mami that her girls wont run and we trusted Anton, we pick our girls and bring back to hotel.
We stayed in Hotel most of the time, toking and u know what la. Going each other room to chat and then back to individual room for action.
Untill dinner time we went to have seafood to the same place we went during first trip. Its beside may may seafood and the name : Kelong1. we didnt order crabs juz sotong n prawns so price wise is 550k for like 5 ppl (we do treat the driver)
Day2 : juz went shopping and massage, went to clean joint, indon thai for massage and dinner same as day 1. then back hotel to rest n slp whole night.
came back and our ferry is at nongsa, paid driver 400k and here i'm sharing my experiences.
batam fast to n fro - $50
from habourfront to HBB
like i said we hardly explore via walking and base on first trip we dont wanna go to those pubs anymore.
and like in nono list, delta is a must to try.
Travelling from Sekupang to NED takes about 60mins to go and come back according to some website's average travelling timing. The last time i went, took about 50 mins to go and come back. Definitely not a place to choose for my ferry drop off point,hehehe...even if its free, unless i planned to stay in Tempat Senang Resort Spa & Restaurant in one of my future planned trip,hehehe...
Preview of their kind of rooms (click on the spoiler button to view)
That's because most of them get limited customer a day due to the "taxi queue" and "area". However, until now the lowest i can get is only 50k to nagoya.. Usually i pay below 80k
There is "cost based pricing" and "market pricing". If cabbie wants 120k becos he had to pay 50k for parking, then understandably he wants to recover his cost. But if the other taxis charge 50k because that is the market price, then you have a choice to make his higher cost your problem and pay 120k, or try to go with market pricing at 50k. So as not to appear to be: "bullying the locals"?, although we agreed on 40k, I gave him 50k and told him to keep the change. I think that is quite fair. By the same token, I have come across really honest cabbies who were not out to scalp me and who had been really helpful that I have given 100k for a 50k fare and told them to keep the change. Its not about money, as it is about not getting bullied becos you have been marked as a stupid sillyporean who likes to throw around your money to impress.

Ojek from Sekupang terminal to Nagoya, usually i pay below 50k.
Bus to Nagoya/Batam Center 4k, only available until 5+pm Indonesia time
Queue- Most of the taxi you see sitting/waiting for customer has their own queue within their group in that "area"
......
Thanks for the useful information. I don't mind taking Ojek for short distances around Nagoya, but I would rather taxi longer distances like between Sekupang and Nagoya.

Thanks for useful cab phone numbers, I will place them in my phone contacts. BTW, what is the call booking fee, and what is metered reading Sekupang to Nagoya.
Appreciate the discussions. Just upped you 10 rep points.

There is no call booking fee, just a minimum charge of 25k... Eg, if u call a cab and your meter fare is 12k, you will still need to pay the minimum charge of 25k. If your final meter charge is more than 25k, you just pay the final meter charge. You will also have to bear the entrance fee, if any (eg if silvercab picks u up at Nagoya Hill, u need to pay for his entry fee of 2k).
For Bluebird, the meter starts at 8k rupiah for the 1st kilometer, and it jumps 550 rupiah for every 100 metres.
For Silvercab, the meter starts at 6k rupiah for the 1st km and it jumps 500 rupiah for every 100 metres.
Never taken a metered cab from Sekupang to Nagoya, but I am sure that it is much cheaper than taking one of those private taxis or one of those hailed from the taxi counters.
One more thing to note: Silvercabs can pick you up from anywhere, whereas there are many places that Bluebird cabs cannot pick u up from, eg all the major shopping centers, all the ferry terminals, etc..

(not addressed to you, John)
It is somehow astonishing for me to see that, time after time, one of the most recurrent topics here, among fellow cheongsters who do not hesitate to pay 1M for a girl or 500k in a KTV, is always "how to save 10k on a taxi fare from Harbour Bay to Nagoya", or a few 10k's for longer rides.
One thing is being "chopped carrot" and being marked as stupid money wasters, another to cut few 10k to someone who has a family to sustain with that poor money. Usually I know in advance what is the correct standard fare for a ride, and if the driver does not try to overcharge me, I leave a small tip. Nothing for me, but something significant for him (think about his babies and wife).
However, since we always talk about Formosa, my suggestion is to look at the table of standard fares for taxi rides, which is posted there at the bell boy stand.
Take those fares as "max limits", say published expensive fares, and try to negotiate something less if you take a taxi from the street instead of the parking lot of the hotel. This may give a good hint on what could be the right fare for any ride from A to B in Batam.
