I cannot quote any data on this.

From my personal experience, giving a single dose of 1g Azithromycin (which is the recommended treatment) has a failure rate of about 10%.

That is why I like to use 1 to 2 weeks of Doxycycline for treatment of Chlamydia. This of course comes with its own set of issues especially compliance.

Compliance man. I myself find it hard to take 1 tablet 2x per day for 1 week. Always forget.
