Re: Am i a low income worker?
Quote:
Lots of middle income earners who live in cities can't afford cars because of the exorbitant overheads imposed on private vehicles by many municipal bodies around the world. In Auckland, those who live downtown don't own cars because the parking fees are so high even though they're comfortably well off. Same applies to cities like New York, London, Tokyo etc.

Re: Am i a low income worker?
You are the new poor when the basket of goods you consume keeps decreasing. Doesn't matter how much you earn or what global standards are (you don't live elsewhere, you live in sg). Someone beat you to that piece of COE paper. Its call Real purchasing power. Simply put, in a land of giants earning $15k, when you earn less, your ability to compete for the same good has fallen. Economics 101.

Re: Am i a low income worker?
Basically , cars yes they are overpriced in Singapore but there are still so many atas car on the streets. You look left and right everywhere is a mercs or bmw trying to cut in your lane without signalling.
Is car really essential in singapore? I dare say with proper time management.. one can survive with public transport in Singapore. Worst come to worse taxis are everywhere. Uber is so fucking handy. hahah. Before getting a car.. you might have already thought .. waa hoseh liao can pick up xmm or ols to go watch movie or go rounding or late night supper than hoping you can fuck her. But i have been driving on the streets. 100km around the island a night... minimum.. My job requires so.. Driving is such a dick. You can't speed. Expressway 90kmph than you go 120kmph your lampar starts to shrink.. trying to spot any tp.. Than you drink you cannot drive... plus morning and evening traffic on expressway 80% jam. Cant find parking at popular hotspots ... park liao still kena parking fine..

i believe that once someone no need to bother about your CPF (don't even care what the balance is, and don't care about the minimum balance and future changes), you will have comfortably moved into the middle class in Singapore. |
