well my virgin trip was in 1976
bought my first coach ticket for $80 return at 707 tour agency
bus crew with 2 drivers and 1 stewardess
the stewardess serve us drinks..pillows...etc
journey was around 20 hours
so prepare for your backside pain

my first hotel their was hotel president...is it still there?

My virgin trip by bus is late 70.
1) Love the deep fried chicken drumstick when you reach Changloon checkpoint.
2) Cheong Zodiac Disco @Sukonthai Hotel now is Novotel Hotel.
3) Girls dont take drugs
4) Girls will write letters to you when you are back in Singapore..heheh no handphone in the 70.
5)Girls will bring their swimming attire and swim in the then so call "5 Stars" JB Hotel when you stay ther.
6) There is no Lee Garden Plaza,Sakura Grand View,Regency New Wing.
7) Silkair only fly to Hatyai in mid 80.

Yes the hotel still there,during the 80 alot of Singapore police force like to stay there becos when you produce yr warrant card, they give you 30% discount on room.
My 1st stay was Montien Hotel,heard is haunted.

When I heard so much about HDY & HKT in the mid '70 and found no direct flight I have to hitch a bus ride with a tour group on two weeks trip up to Chiang mai but end my trip in Bkk.

i cant recall the hotel name
but its only a small budget hotel

when the first time i went to the disco
i was shocked that the only live band there can continue playing
from 9 pm to 4 am non stop

actually its quite a long story
to be honest its impossible to stay there unless you got some connections
i considered lucky
i remember its a holiday and i cant get a hotel room
so this malaysia guy who claimed himself a wanted man from penang
he really look like a gangster to me
i get to know him from my gal
i also help him during his bad time
so he was greatful to me
he knows many pimps in haadyai
so thats how i got my chance to stay there
actually its my idea to stay there as i am very curious about it
i still remember the pimp name is ali...he drives tuk tuk part time too
i also know there is a pistol in his tuk tuk
he show it to me and told me as a pimp he can never know what might happen

they exist even in bangkok and phuket
because i experienced it there too
