What if the gal sms you to F@#K you. You thought it is a funny sms and approach another gal to translate. Do you think you will be seen as good man? in SGP most of the sms with the gals in JC and GL are 'noi chuyen bay wa'. If let other gals translate, you may not be seen as a good man. |

Re: Tieng Viet lovers club
@KangTuo: I don't know how many "FUCK YOU &%$#@" messages you usually get, but 99% of the messages I get are quite different and very innocent (typically sth like "a dag lam j day"?). Chances of giving a really "bad" msg to translate are LOW. And even if it should happen, if another girl translates a ""FUCK YOU &%$#@" msg, you don't lose anything - you only get to have an interesting conversation with a new girl. Tell that girl "oh, that's too bad, because I really want to learn more vietnamese. I love the culture of Vietnam. Maybe you can help me. Can you give me your number?"
The only sure thing is that NOT talking to girls is not going to get you anywhere. Meeting girls is a numbers game imho. The more you meet, the more you talk to, the more chances to make new and exciting experiences.

Re: Tieng Viet lovers club
Actually vdict is not very useful as you need to know the "context". The same words can have different meanings in different context. Best way to learn is to "interact" with the locals and keep those ears open when they speak.
Last sentence, she asks: "Were u upset"... (something like that)... went on to say "she left early, slept early...". Quote:
She asks: "Where are you?". That's pretty basic VN, u should learn, bro. |

Hi, if u relies on others to feed u with info, u will only see from their very narrow point of view. If u step out yourself and try to "recee" and "test water" you may discover much more than other can give u....

Re: Tieng Viet lovers club
I believe most of the bro here received sms are of "english words" without the vietnamese sign... So based on the context of your conversation u may guess roughly the meaning of the sentence. Even up to today, I still got problem understand every sms. If i dun know, i will call up the party and ask what is the real meaning of the sentence. During my days of learning viet, there does not exist such a thread called "Tieng viet lovers club" where some help can be seek. I sugg u to take note of all the translations that brothers here gave and compiled into your own of Reference.

Re: Tieng Viet lovers club
I thought of a way on how to "spoonfeed" frens who knows nothing about tieng viet to sms to their gals. I will start the ball rolling and all you GrandMaster and Expert level people please feel free to add more
1. Daily Greeting Chao e! E khoe kg? An gi chua? Dang lam gi vay? Hello! How are u? Eat anything already? Wat are u doing? Other than "CHAO e", you can use: Xin chao/Chao=Hello Chao Buoi Sang/Chieu/Toi=Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening
