Yes, actually it is not exactly a quota imposed. Politically the malaysian side dont actually allows malays to work in singgi, not only in this line but also other professions too. I believe it is more of a political reason by both sides that sets the limitation.

Unlike many many eons ago the singgi economy is very much better off now so uncle sam is not going easy on permits to singgi gals and besides that there is also the social stigma that singgi gals are staying away from GL.

Unarguably in terms of SOP, like you say GL gals still provides the best of service. Hope it stay that way if not better.
