few factors as obviously foreign money is flowing into Thai at a rapid rate to support it, damaging export prospects simultaneously. It is hard to ascertain the source money is coming from and although unclear we can safely speculate that at least some of it is from foreign investors circumventing the capital controls enforced by the "government"

not new reason but the slide of the American dollar resulting from lack of confidence in the American economy sparked by you know what and their disastrous foreign policy. American authorities who try to reduce the value of the massive trade surpluses held by countries such as China does not help as they are denominated in uncle $am dollars.

Aiyo, the only thing matters is the layman get more bang for our buck... oops, bht

Possible major reasons for latest bht change:

1. Outflows from Thailand (rather than capital inflows). Year end squaring up of positions vs US liabilities, orders. Recall opposite happened some years back when we kena pay over our nose for bht, after Temasek paid for AIS

2. Softening exports (big part of GDP) with world's poor economic sentiment and weakening demand

3. Business, foreign investment confidence level -with political uncertainty not out of woods yet (red or yellow tees)
