from my own experience and confirmed by some of my kaki...

how the joint-account works:

The men can only deposit and the withdrawl is at the discretion of the other account holder

If you open a joint account with both names and with a `AND' word.. for example : MR SINGVIET And MRS SINGVIET, then withdrawal will need the signature of both parties. If its joint account with both names without the AND word, then any party can withdraw anytime.

Not to sound negative, but majority of normal vietnamese ladies are like that. too many singaporean man had fallen victim to their tricks. But of course, there are a small minority of normal gals that are good.
just pondering..then what is the "final straw that breaks the camel's back"? A Sg-ROM paper? A Vn-ROM paper?

No secured future in anything the humankind does, it seems...as it is also true for working-life - it's a rat race; in love-affair - it's a dangling-fair, perhaps. Depends the scale tips which side, the other side wins..?

Then, there's really no end, not even in marriage (after marriage, the partner still go men-hunting perhaps?). Perhaps, f & f...continue until some saviour comes along...sad..

Life sucks indeed, isn't it?

Life sucks.. but that's life. After marriage, you need to let your vietnamese spouse have a sense of security, which often comes in the form of financial ability. Their demand may not be too high, but some basic financial security must be there to make them feel secure to be with you. Next is to stop cheoinging for some time. Make them feel confident of the love you have for them. Don't think that they will not know if you go bonking other woman outside, you will be surprised. With financial security and confidence in you, the chances of them going man-hunting is low. But if they still go man-hunting after you have given them financial security and confidence, then maybe you married the wrong lady

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner

Guys!! Need your help. How do you usually send money to vietnam?? Tried some internet service like "iKobo" and "Xoom" not bad, cost about 5% of the amount sent as transfer fee. They accepted the transfer at first but both company cancelled the transaction after a 1-2 days. Somehow they didn't want to go through with it. Saying that it's due to security reason.

Thus was wondering if you guys can recommend something like Western Union but I think there must be a cheaper alternative?? I see shops which provide remitting service at GL, City Plaza, Golden Mile but was wondering if you guys know any reliable ones which you happen to always use for vietnam.

Thanks in advance!!

Sorry if I'm being a busybody, but are you sending money to your wife in Vietnam? If you are flirting with some girl you got to know on a trip, think twice. Many brothers have fallen into their traps, including yours truly. Don't wish to see another brother bite the dust.

Thanks a lot for rates!! Quite expensive. I guess we just have to pay more for better service.

Thanks for your concern bro!! I totally know where you are coming from but sometimes a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. Whatever that means..
