Tran, 20 year old girl , was from poor family in Ho Chi Minh City , her family was looked down upon because of her late grandfather's role in Vietnamese War. He was trained by USA to defend the capitalist South against Communist North. He thought USA can defeat North Vietnam because it possessed fearsome weapons.. He was true believer in capitalism, and free trade, unlike Communist system of central planned economy where State decide price, what to produce , etc.. Unfortunately, USA, decided to withdraw from Vietnam because that was the will of majority of US voters. Thus, South Vietnamese capital , Saigon , was overrun and become Ho Chi Minh City.
He was condemned by Vietnamese court as traitors and his families and his descendants were forever condemned to poorest region of Ho Chi Minh City.

Communist government decided which job for job applicant. People from Hanoi, get the best job. People from pro-Communist camps ,who resided in Ho Chi Minh City get middle level job. People with anti communist background , assigned to work at cleaners, maids, dishwashers.etc...

At the end of Cold War, all communist countries decided that Central Planned Economy don't work well anymore as Western capitalism had influenced the world markets, online businesses,etc.
Vietnam, followed suit and allowed people to start business with restriction.
Some bribe Vietnamese official to start sex trade in one part of Hanoi.

Tran decide to go to Hanoi to work , but most shops preferred people from Hanoi or pro Communist background. Tran fill in application form which stated her family background and which part of capital cities she born.
Since she was from condemned district, she was turned away immediately..

Then she came across the ad which required maid for lower middle household where head was the very junior Communist official who was educated from Western university , he got very modern outlook..
He don't care about background as she was human being can work,..

She happily start work and earn little upkeep and have free meal which is french bagutte and butter... and plain water. She cannot drink Vietnamese coffee which she was trained to make for family.

She went about doing house chore dilligently and went to visit her family on Friday nights and spent time there but she must returned to her master at Sunday evening..

As time went by, Tran's father fell sick , she went to her master to seek more money, but he cannot do much.
He can only bring her father to public hospital, but her father don't get emergency treatment after registration check her father profile and found that he was from rebel family, widely condemned by Communist government.
Her master then went to seek political commissar in public hospital, but he refused to help as it was the guidance of Communist ideology,

Her master implored the hospital management to help but political commissar told him not to push too far, otherwise he will be sent to labour camp and his family will be disgraced.
He was helpless as he was only junior level member of Vietnam Communist Party, and his finance was tied to financing his family members, his house, tax to communist government.

After few hours, doctor finally see her father ,and told her that he was suffering from liver cancer and cannot stay in hospital to receive daily care from nurse. he can only stay in her own house and cared for by her mother and brother.

Her master give her Thursday -Friday-Sat-Sun off to care for her father.
On Thursday, she search online to seek better cure, then she look at China, Russia, Japan, USA. their medical advancement exceeded that of Vietnam.
She wondered why Vietnam cannot be like China, and why didn't USA put in more effort to conquer north part of Vietnam. or stay in South Vietnam so that southern Vietnam would be rich and prosperous country with democratic realm ,caring for people.
She asked her neighbour for money.
One pervertic neigbour look at her, so pretty and young..made suggestion that she be prostitute earning US$ , and foreign currency ..She angry and hit him in the head.
Her dark side telling her that he was right.. and she had sleepless night..
