Yup all hypothetical and assumptions with no basis. Hence, whatever I post below in this post cannot be constituted as truths. (Get the sarcasm??? Because I realise some people may not get it) And oh shit, my bad for choosing to trust the media rather than some cock and bull websites which are written by god knows who.

In a 59-page report issued last Friday and made public yesterday, the Auditor-General's Office (AGO) identified five broad areas of "weakness": Lapses in management of sinking funds; Lapses in governance of related party transactions leading to conflicts of interest; Lapses in management of arrears of service and conservancy charges; Lapses in internal controls and procurement; and Inadequacies in record management and accounting system. Dominating the report was the second section, where the AGO said AHPETC inadequately managed potential conflicts of interest in its transactions. AHPETC senior staff, such as its secretary and general manager, also own companies that the town council had contracted to provide estate management services. - See more at: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/sin....syGT4RBv.dpuf

The report submitted to the MND shows that there are 4,379 households with S&CC arrears of three months or more. But the report given to AHPETC's finance and investment committee shows 17,502 such households. - See more at: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/sin....SD3bHaoX.dpuf

What Mr Low did not disclose at the time was that even the council's independent auditor had raised concerns over whether it had enough funds to support its daily operations, as it had a net operating deficit of about $92,000 and an accumulated deficit of about $9,000, said Mr Lee. "What Mr Low also did not disclose is that Hougang managed to avoid a cash flow problem only after he merged Hougang with Aljunied after GE 2011," said Mr Lee. - See more at: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/sin....8vIyvFdS.dpuf
I'm sorry for posting so much lies and exaggeration. This will be the last time I entertain you on this thread.

Aiyo. Chey. With residential housing supply surging, a declining FT growth and rising interest rates, good luck to you if are vested neck deep. Did you notice your rent returns falling?

Let's be candid about Singapore's biggest secret. Those who vote the ruling party wants the champagne to continue flowing. Those that don't, don't feel the love. Its a downright fight between the working class vs the asset class.

(Me thinks there will be a limit where people get du lan because it is so damn crowded here. But what do I know??)

No point quarrelling with Kuasimi. We won't change things. We just watch the Many pak jiao vs Maybe good weather fight

Hahaha no we more or less got out about a year back when we thought the property market was going down. But we still held on to some good investments which continue to show strong returns (location, location, and I don't mean Orchard/ Bay Area). We are currently looking to reinvest in some very good deals (again, location, location)

I shifted mine over the seas. Here, I look see look see only. The population here is a function of policies. Not real. 3m citizens, 2m transient. Like a heavy kampung house sitting on stilts. One crisis away from collapsing. I won't re-enter till 2016-2017 when things are more clear, if I were you.(QE, interest rates, politics)

I don't trust the government and the developers in bolehland. They don't have concrete plans for what to do with the huge excess housing that they have and there are simply not enough businesses there to keep up with the influx of housing.

It's ok I see some really good deals out there. Too good to be true deals haha. I am willing to take the risk since I have no intentions of selling within the next 5 years, have 0% interest because we don't take loans and have faith in the government. That's a risk that the asset-class people have to take right? If we bet wrongly, some of us may be worse off than what we started with.

Who said anything about bolehland? Our good Mates should be a better bet. Interest rates determine capital flow. If one is less able to buy it off you, guess which direction your property price is going? Again, its not your faith but the population's faith as a whole. When the govt change, policies change. I feel the force getting stronger by the day, my young padawan. The dark force. See, got a storm trooper shoot you liao. LoL

Re: Am i a low income worker?

TS bro, the key is how you perceive the car, do you really need it at all for daily work? If not get off-peak car or stay to public transport.

I have seen all sorts of people, many don't live within their means.
There are people with below 3k salary trying all means to get a car, eg china make, kia picanto, off-peak, renew coe car, etc

There are also those with 5k odd salary, instead of getting an average car, go for continental ones.

I'm working in construction industry (marine previously), project sales role, mid 30s, annual salary is more than 100k.

But i'm still driving a Japanese car, why?
Because i travel a lot locally, sometimes a full tank in 3 days so a continental car would hurt the maintenance by a lot.
And also the places that i go to are rather rugged, job sites and all.
Many heavy vehicles moving in and out, rocks and dust, sometimes you get nails in your tyres etc etc...

So driving this Japanese car is by choice, can so called thrash it and no need heart pain when those minor scratches and dents appear out of no where after a whole day at the job site.

What you do is right, getting a 2nd property and getting rental yield from the spare house, which is what i do as well.

Just bear with it a little and think of why and when you will need this car, what kind of car, etc.

Yes. I am greedy. i invest heavily to cater for retirement. To have 2nd property to collect rental. This how i ended no money for car. but i curious how others drive big car is it they earn alot?
