just got back from tokyo last week, ir u go to east side of shinjuku station, there's the infamous red light district, a few blocks of nightclubs for u to choose.

if u cant speak japanese there's chinese guys or black guys that will approach u...i did not tried that. as i have a friend from tokyo that bring me around.

Can see that many are worried about the language barrier and being rejected as a gaijin in Japan. I can offer some info/advice here since I'm quite familiar with the Tokyo scene, not so sure about other parts of Japan though.

In general, regarding the anti-gaijin thing, they can be divided into 3 categories.

1) 100% non-gaijin-friendly. They don't even care if u speak nihongo. As long as they can tell from your appearance or accent u are non-japanese, u are out. Many such places in Japan, some have signs at their shops or specify on website they do not accept foreigners. However, in recent hard times and poor economy, the number of such places is decreasing, either some begin to entertain foreigners who can speak jap (2nd category below) or they closed down due to poor biz. Advice: Do not attempt if u do not speak at least JLPT 2 nihongo and/or if u look really non-jap (ang-mo, malay etc).

2) Will accept some non-jap customers who can speak/understand some nihongo. Basically, if u can communicate to them that u can understand the system, pricing and services provided, they should let u in. Advice: To have higher chance of success, dress cleanly/neatly (like a jap), be polite, smile to show interest. I know those yakuza-looking guys outside can look quite threatening but there is really no harm/danger just asking to try your luck. Many of them are more receptive than u think. If u get rejected, just move on and try some other place, there are so many service providers in an area, there's bound to be at least one who'll accept u.

3) Totally gaijin-friendly. Yes, there are such places/services. However, things to take note, not all girls at such places accept gaijin so your choices may be limited, there's also usually a gaijin tax which means u pay more than the locals so do make sure u ask about the price, don't just go "hai" all the way.

Sexual services (fuzoku) in Japan is different from other countries. The trade itself is actually legal but honban (FS) is illegal and strictly prohibited mostly. You may try your luck asking for it, some girls do offer extra service, some at additional cost. However, word of warning, be DISCREET and do not be pushy. If the girl says no, it means NO. There are past cases where some places turn non-gaijin-friendly because some people go spoil market by being pushy or some negative experience. If u die die want FS, go for soapland (100% have FS).

Be realistic and do not expect to go to such places with ZERO jap ability. Even a little jap goes a long way. Learn basic words/phrases like time, place, numbers, price will open up alot more options for u. If u really know nuts about the jap language or cannot be bothered to learn, getting an escort service is your best (if not only) bet.

Hell, even Seoul, has a higher Pickup rate for women off the streets/clubs/bars/lounges...and i am saying, language difficulties notwithstanding...
