I guess it boils down to the hairstyle u are having. barber certainly cannot do what some hairstylists do. U dun like that say those eh sai one leh. Cut hair at saloon only.

dunnit go Samut Prakan lah, I go to barbers in town (juz below my apartment) in BKK for 60 baht.

wah lau, 60 THB can have a hair cut, compared to salon pay more than 1000 THB, not eh sai, then is wat? I certainly too heart pain to pay for hair cut in salons lor.

Told u oredi, my hair style is those similar to use a bowl cover my head, then cut / trim the uncovered areas type. Got frens treat me to salon (in SG) b4, but I find the so-called hair stylist, got dunno wat certificates some more, took longer time to cut never mind, end up cut until here & there cannot balance.

The only time I went salon was when I was in GuangZhou, when I juz arrived in tat small ulu district & damn busy. Tat costs me 30 RMB (6 SGD), but at least I quite satisfied wif the ambience, comfort & service level (the hair stylist oso got certificate one, interior design of the salon oso quite nice). Barbers in Shanghai costs only 5 RMB (1 SGD)!!!

Anyway, given a choice, I'd rather do without all those ambience, design, etc etc, a hair cut is still a hair cut.

But i guess those barbers are unable to trim like those above. Which is why the need to go such saloons for some though. *LOL*

I v old-fashioned & conservative, I still keeping those schoolboy hairstyle, often adhering to the 4-by-2 standard, heeheehee.

That's why these type of hairstyle need to be cut at saloon. Barber dun have the techniques and equipment to do that. That is why the expensive haircut cost. Our anson always go for expensive haircut one. I also same like u. go cheap cheap one.
