I agree. In singapore, you are not paying for food, but for RENTAL. Hahahaha.

Food in batam is good, generally. Linga 933 and others are not that good, when you go to these places.

Usually, if I want seafood, I go to these places. In restuarants I prefer other food. Ayam Penyet Ria is good, so is Fahmawati Ayam. If you talk about Nasi Padang, the one next to Altalanta( cant remember the name) is also good.

In short, batam always got good food at cheap prices!

Btw, $1 = IDR8000 over the past weekend. Good for us... a sweeter deal for eating out in Batam...

Lets hope they dont start adjusting and raising all the goods there. Because once its raised, they would never adjust back to their old price again.

Likely there will still be gal wrking there cos i heard they are bonded under contract so even holidays they have to wrk, but is a long weekend so biz mayb gd, u got to be there early and choose fast b4 other took it.

The return to Harbour Bay is 48 dollars, including tax.

Batam Center is abit cheaper 43? Cant remember, but the distance is further and takes 1 1/2 hour to get there. Also cheonging places are far from Batam Centre.

yo bro man_sg2000 i will be free tat day also til wed 10dec as clear leave so pm me if u wan to go together but as it is hari raya haji i am nt sure abt the rates and the gals as i never go on malay public holiday before i have been there 5times and know where to eat seafood,watch movies,play pool,shopping and fishtank i know of around 6 places which i can show u so no need to give taxi commision normally is around 250k-300k for queens or dynasty jungle mingle abit more exp but hari raya haji i nt sure the rates

any bros interested to go on 7dec sun also?
any bros can provide the info (1)will rates of gals increase on hari raya haji
(2)do i need to call to book the tickets for wavemaster or peguin in advance as on sun normally if sat go u didnt book in advance sometimes need to wait til 12+ 1 noon den got boot to go over

TEl: 6546 8830. Wave master. CAll in advance especially sat. Very pack and full. They need your passport number, date of issue and expire. date of birth. Once captured, next time you call, give passport number only, they will know.

On Hari Raya Haji, try to be more discreet. You know the police always trying to get $$ if got chance. Not too sure if these places will be "forced" to close, for religious reasons. Although Ramadan period yes, for a few weeks.

i've been to batam now 5 times on my own. i'm a westerner living in kl and travel often to jb. batam is quite easy to get around and i've never felt threatened or in any way uncomfortable. i've gone solo every time so far though a few times i have hooked up with malaysians or singaporeans for nightlife.

a tip to orang puteh like myself, find a taxi driver that speaks decent english and ask him to take you to places that have nice girls that also speak some english.

i like the panorama regency because the wifi connection is strong and quite fast. the hotel is clean, great staff and good breakfast. Also in a good location for Nagoya.
