The Legal Geylang (prostitute) SceneHad a great time with a government approved broad in Geylang? Tell us all about it! No FREELANCE crap here please. Legal commercial sex only. Threads about illegal Geylang whores carry a reputation point penalty.
Cheongsters I have met up before, in the past we always talked about starting a business in Thailand.
And I believed many people want to start a business in Thailand too.
I would say most had this mindset of starting a business in Thailand is because of
1) Tirak
2) So can stay in Thailand because Thailand low cost of living
3) So can find ways/avenues/opportunities to cheong.
It's only when it comes to the last part, profits that can generate from the businesss then people start to think harder.
To put it simply, if the first thing that comes to mind for a business was only money-driven and not tirak-driven then I think the business is worth planning and doing.
For those who are thinking of giving up their career/ business in Singapore to strike it out in an investment in Thailand, it simply is not worth it. Risk Takers are encouraged but stupidity is not.
No matter what we are not Khon Thais. Their government protects their interests, not ours, for in their eyes we are forever aliens.
I believe that no matter how much love there is between 2 parties, by giving up everything in Singapore to go to Thailand and settle roots doing business all for the sake of love, it will never work out. Especially if business fails, no money, the honey love you how much also will run away.
If I am dumping $50K SGD into a Singapore business and I dump $50K SGD into a Thailand business, and the Singapore Business earns more and generates more profit, it makes no cow sense to invest in the Thai Business because of tirakship. However this is what many people are doing/going to do.
SC
Yes professor SC, i dink u gonna be one of the best adviser down here.every consider setting up a consultancy over here i dink u would definately generate a lot of profits.i cant help but agree with u the facts.so what is your suggestion for those tirak-wannabes or those who have their spouse stranded overseas and cant apply for visa here.where else should they settle down and in events if they are *forced* to making a living away from singapore what should they do? bro seriously your advice is much sought after...
yo bro how's things going nowadays ... u know, till today i still have not sent the translated verses to her yet ??? long story ... got chance will tell u bout it ... and how i met no 2
young or not bro it's the mindset that makes the difference ... at least u're taking it with a practical point of view ... not to say selling som tam and pineapples is not impossible but neither is it practical ... solly to the bro who was contemplating that course of action ... shitty as it may sound it is the truth
this has gotta be one of the best pieces of advice i've seen in any of the teeruk threads in awhile ...
yoz. so could u provide any handy solution wif regards to this issue?
Ooch! Touchy! Don't know why u bring in the word "Saint" though... Saint no need to work and don't visit prostitudes.
No need to get so sensitive. I thought u said u used to people pouring cold water already? Apparently don't sound like it leh.
As I said I've never heard of retired WLs marrying a foreigner and going back to the village to sell pineapple and som-tam one. Like I said, if she's happy with this kinda simple life like staying in village selling som-tam, she won't be selling herself last time in the first place...
Both SC and vmtech had also voiced that they never thought of such "impractical" move...
I can only conclude u must be very young and rush type of person. Frankly speaking, I also thought it was all wisful thinking on ur part only.
Haha.. why don't u use ur original nick to post? Or are u the guy who can learn to speak Thai within half year like a Thai and HAD a AGOGO girlfriend who graduated from ABAC supporting u (which u claimed) for 8 months and dried up all ur life savings but in the end got kicked out from her apartment and now back to square one in Singapore?
maybe u would never encounter such scenario coz u are mature, decisive, has foresight and realistic sensible guy.so what advise have u got to offer besides preaching your thoughts.
sure, i'm damn free in singapore anyway. but im just not sure when i will be going up, not sure date. + the immigration peepz @ myanmar borders definately knows my face after i made a ruckus during the time i was stuck in the borders. maybe not so soon, just in case they kajiao me LOL
anyway i will be up in bkk 19-23 to do some meetings with people to discuss about the overseas venture im planning off.
anything PM me if it's private
including me in your plans?i be your servant juz pay me my meals when i am over there wif u .keke
A newbie's opinion -
I wouldn't say setting up a business is difficult in thailand if you know the do and don'ts well. Multiple factors contributes to the success of the venture. You strike at the right time in the right trade, you're in for a big windfall. The whole business experience I had there was quite pleasent.
But I do agree if you wanna go into business, make sure its well worth the effort. Forking out money and effort and what you get back is peanuts, I'll better off be working for somebody instead. What I feel many not reflect what others think. Its just my opinion.

I think I am not in a position to feed people here with ideas/suggestions/ on how to lead their life with their loved ones.
If my advice is sought after, does it mean what I tell you to do you will do?
Then let me tell you not to be with your girl. Can you do that?
It shows you are independent enough to make your own stand, your own choice, so you have to be independent enought to find your own food.
I also have to make my survival in this real world.

I didn't know this is a debate competition.... I'll love to see u come back here and post 5 years from now and laugh in my face saying, "Hey! I'm now happily selling som-tum with my Thai wife in the village and we're living happily with our 2 years old son/daughter".
Nothing to do with age... its more of maturity. At least u know whats practical and whats not.
Do be careful of trusting the Thai too much when doing business in Thailand though... with the 49-51% law, 1 simple mistake, they can screw u around and its bye bye for u.
I've heard real life cases where the S'porean partner even ended up in jail.

Best wishes.
wont be 49% if it's a representative office of a foreign country .
100% ownership possible.

I've not heard about that. Its always 49-51... but what we did is although we're 49%, the other 51% is spread among 4 Thai partners thus we're still major share holder.
Start up capital is 2 million baht.
They're lawyers here who can advise on "legal" procedures for starting up businesses.
So did you read carefully what he wrote initially?
He wrote that his girl wants to come SG on real documents but previously her documents that were used for Cat40 work was faked.
So if now she come SG and say her passport is real, and thus it will prove her prev passport is fake lah. Then u still dare to tell people to come in like dat and hiong.
Talk is cheap, u talk here no need any responsibility but the person who listens to what you advised might get arrested and jailed.
SC
well, likewise, you too didnt read my comments properly too. as suggested, regardless if its genuine/fake passport that they used during their tour of duty here. not advisable to attempt re-entering our shores altogether.
