Re: Hanoi

I was eating dinner at the Fortuna recently and went down to the basement to have a quick look...Mamasan intercepted me at the door, looked very serious and explained that the minimum charge was 30$. I laughed and said I knew that. I managed to say it in viet so she looked very (positively) surprised. I explained I didn't want to sit down, just have a quick look, I said I might come back later. One of the girls says "hello", I say "chao em", and suddenly I am surrounded by 20-30 girls. One of them complained they have very few customers, but actually almost all tables were reserved (or maybe they just do that to pretend to be popular). Some of the girls where rather desperate and grabbed my private parts. Several tried to put my hands on their breats - one, Thuy, small but bright smile, grabbed my hand and tried to put it below the belt...I quickly explained I did not like that (which is a lie of course). I never got that treatment at Fortuna before, and all for free. Seems as if a few words in viet really do wonders. I learned from the best - Anh DepTrai. Later, at 17 saloon, I spent most of the evening talking to one of the better-looking Hennessy-girls. She seemed genuinely friendly. I didn't even tip her but she didn't seem to mind (usually when I forget to tip at 17 saloon after a bigger event the girls keep hovering around me until I remember). That was one week ago. She keeps sending me 1-5 text messages a day. Sometimes about how thong minh and dep trai I supposedly am, "how are you", "what are you doing" and stuff like that. I asked her if she would like to eat with me one day, but she ignored that. But she keeps sending messages about how intelligent and good looking I am. I suspect the opposite is true, she's clever, and she's not very interested in eating with me, she just wants me to buy more bottles of cognac? If that's the case, she's sure spends a lot of time grooming me. Or maybe she's just relatively shy towards foreigners? I need to find out...

Re: Hanoi
Bro, congrads to your thong minh-ness and dep trai-ness.
I never had such treatment or never even dream that such treatment will be possible in the hall of BossKtv. The girls are usually more 'disciplined'. As for 17 salon, the waitress and promoters are really not as simple as they may seem. Quote:

Kekeke...
His Dep-Trai-Ness is another member here. As for me, more likely you should congratulate me on my rat-ngu-ness. Yes, you're right about the 17 saloon girls. I just got a text message: "A uong nhieu ruou va hut nhieu thuoc". Smart girl.

Re: Hanoi
BTW I probably was lucky with the promoter girl: I was next to a table of drunk Sillyporeans who kept grabbing her. She clearly didn't seem to like that, so she rather spent the evening with me (who was only slighly less drunk, but didn't grab her).

Re: Hanoi
BA GIA PROJECT - Status report:
I have a date with the promoter girl tomorrow! At first, she ignored my suggestion to eat together, again. Recently she kept asking more and more questions, about my family, how much money I make, if I own a house etc So I answered I will tell her everything when she has time to meet me. That worked. It took me almost ten days, hours of talking and dozens of messages to get that date. But I am very excited now! (This is definitely much more fun than spending at lot of money at BossKTV...and anyway most girls there usually look less attractive in daylight...)

Just remember to only let her know your financial status is 50% less than what you really have. You never know what ulterior motives the girl has. |

with that sort of questions she asked... I think it is very obvious on her motives. Good luck bro.

Re: Hanoi
Hello everyone. I first will say thank you for such an amazing forum! Friendly and informative! A truly rare thing!
My question is if anyone can tell me about Sakura Club at Vu Thanh (I think so)? I come to Hanoi often and have visited Sakura Club on Cat Linh, but just last time I was a little disappointed with service. Is there advice for this? Also talked about on here a lot is La Thanh Hotel. I never go here, but maybe it is better than Sakura Club? Thank you very much everybody. |

I will probably never fully understand viet girls. It took a lot of hard work to get that date. Few minutes after we sit down for lunch, she's already talking about introducing me to her parents. I mentioned I was going to bkk next month - she immediately said she wanted to come along! Wtf, so hard to get at first, and then suddenly so easy? Can anyone else understand that? She's 1.65 (without high heels , so quite tall for vietnamese standards, nice body, beautiful eyes, relatively white skin, and of course whe knows very well she's attractive. 24, she says she hasn't had a boyfriend for 1 year. Lives with her older brother; 2 years until she'll be finished with her studies. From Ha Tay if I remember correctly. I was stopped by the police btw, after I picked her up. Never happened to me before. Usually, the police always let me go as soon as they see I'm a foreigner. I was driving on a road which was for motorbikes only, and of course I didn't have my drivers licence in the car. 300K. Having a viet girl in the car is probably a liability - then they know they have someone to translate. Or is the police taking a more aggressive stance towards foreigners in general?

Re: Hanoi
imho Sakura is a bit overpriced. La Thanh - never been there, but DepTrai seems to recommend it, so it must be a good place.
