When i was in ca last week, one of the hotel recep area got another independent computer that is linked to police station. Both mine and my KC's details were keyed in that computer.but no disturbances or whatsoever by the authority. Anyway, most of the KTV like TDWX also opened for business liao.

Hopefully they will lax all these measures by Q3-Q4 this year

Now hotels and ktvs all linked to GongAn via some kind of computers and cctvs. Esp. hotels, when room check in with your passport information, all will be captured on database.

Hopefully is just for show, many mongers probably do not want our information captured on some database in cp for sure!

Actually... This has been the case for many many years.
Hotels have always been required to report to the local PSB all their guests - and they do so routinely by scanning your passport/home return permit/Prc identity card and transmitting it over when you check in.

Nothing new.

Just at the KTV area, not anywhere else... and they are there just to make sure we don't bring back the FS and big group of gals walking around.. you know what i mean..

anyway... they don't check Hotel room anymore...

Actually long ago no check hotel rooms liao. But I think is up to u to go anot cos nobody will wanna guarantee u.. If anything happen is all at our own risk: )

Just a advice... please do not view gals in your hotel room...

I have seem some mummy bring gals into the hotel room to show the customer... even i can feel that they are bring gals into the room.. what about those gongan.

when you have too many gals going into your room... it will send a red flag out...

Yes. Hotel room checks has for decades been legally sanctioned in China; they never actually announced enforcement when they started it and I certainly doubt that there's any official announcements that it is no longer going to be carried out.

It's the rule of law that is quite lacking in China - and it's always the case that one is taking a certain amount of risk having a wg in your room.

IMHO, although it does seem that the coast maybe "clearer" we're not out of the woods yet.

Am i also right to stay if you are staying at the better hotels, then lower risk. Guess u should know which are the better hotels which i mentioned. Haha

Will monitor for awhile more before deciding the next move. Haha
