Is WeChat nearby feature blocked for foreigners in China?

Note that you can use the "People Nearby" feature and send them messages.
But in the background, the system never forwarded the messages.

I suspect we are not even visible in the "nearby" to be discovered by others - I had tested with the 2 accounts I have; and also with a Singapore friend travelling with me.
If we are visible to people in the nearby feature, I am sure we will get lots of friend requests from pimps.

So except for people nearby feature blocked, everything else is still normal then ?

Also, is there anyway to continue using wechat in China ? Will cloudflare vpn work there ?
