SCDF FIRE ENGINE FALLS INTO PAVEMENT AND GETS STUCK AT VIVO CITY

An SCDF Fire engine sunk into the pavement at the courtyard of Vivocity this evening after a fire safety inspection.

The area where the fire engine fell was just outside Tangs. The pavement tiles had cracked and the rear wheels of the fire engine got stuck.

The incident happened shortly after 6pm and it is understood that the vehicle is still stuck.

The area was barricaded off at about 6:45pm and by 7:20, another tow truck had come to the area.

Water from the fire engine was also being drained to make it lighter so that it could be towed out.

SCDF explained that they are working with contractors to remove the vehicle safely. They are also working with the mall management to work out how the incident occurred.
The four people who were in the vehicle when it fell into the pavement were uninjured:
