MP Lam Pin Min’s branch secretary is a civil servant

http://www.tremeritus.com/2015/01/10...king-for-him/7 Indeed, remaining completely neutral in all political matters is part of a code of conduct expected of all civil servants. This is to help maintain a “high standard of conduct” among the civil servants. That being the case, how can Mr Chew, as a civil servant in NParks and a PAP Branch Secretary of Sengkang West, maintain complete neutrality in all political matters? What is to stop him from putting his party’s interest first? The blogger asked, “So now, given his senior appointment as the Sengkang West branch secretary of the PAP, can Chew Thiam Kwee claim to be politically neutral?” “What guarantee is there that he will not formulate policies from a partisan angle with a view to benefiting the PAP?” he added. “Most important of all, as taxpayers footing Chew’s salary, we need to ask ourselves: is it acceptable for a senior civil servant like Chew to so openly profess his earnest support for the PAP?” Perhaps Sengkang West residents should pose this question to MP Lam Pin Min the next time they meet him.
