PM Lee Blesses Poor Sinkie Students! Huat Ah!
An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
Quote: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Saturday handed out bursary awards to about 560 students from low-income families. The bursaries were handed out to families in Teck Ghee, which is also PM Lee’s ward. PM Lee explained that the students should study hard and look forward to the future and he highlighted that this year is SG50 and it is a time to celebrate success but also look forward to the future. Mr Lee also wished for the students to still be “working vigorously” and “contributing” to the country when they are 60 years old. He said that he hoped that in 50 years’ time, the students could look back and say that they had contributed to the last 50 years up to SG100. The student bursaries came from a donation fund of $165,000 raised by the local community. PM Lee also gave out tokens of appreciation to the donors to the fund. The bursaries were given to students from Primary school to polytechnic and they were worth a one-off payout of $150, to $450. The bursaries were given to those who performed well academically in school and were from low-income families and is intended to help them with any school-related expenses. http://therealsingapore.com/content/...-one-bursaries PAP is so good. I hope PM Lee's vote share would increase to 70% in the coming GE. Click here to view the whole thread at www.sammyboy.com. |
