SINGAPORE - It is more expensive to eat at hawker centres now, but prices are still affordable, said the Consumer Association of Singapore (Case).

This is because prices for certain types of hawker food - such as roti prata, fishball noodles and mixed vegetables rice - did not increase as much as others did.

Others - such as chicken rice and nasi briyani - are 10 to 20 per cent higher now, compared to prices in 2012.

A plate of chicken rice cost $2.50 in 2012 but is $3 today.

More than 500 stalls took part in this price survey.
