The Waterfall

Hi all, I've been reading for a while and something happened recently that reminded me of a true story from a few years ago. So, just want to share it...

The following happened for me a few years ago when I was based on our northern neighbors. I was training for a mountain climbing trip. One of my favorite training sessions was to climb a hill on Saturday mornings. The fun part for me was a waterfall off the regular path, at the end of a 2 hour trek where some people will come for a picnic. Over the weekends, it could be a little crowded, so I decided to hike further upstream to explore to see if I could find a quieter spot. 15 minutes later up a rather tricky ascent, and almost slipping a few times. I found another spot. It was even more beautiful, the crystal clear cooling waterfall, Sitting under it, allowing the water to massage my shoulders and my soul, it was simply beautiful. What’s even better, there does not seem to be anyone else who knows of the spot. So for a few weekends, I was the only one there. I considered it my personal hideout away from the maddening crowds.

3 months before my climb, I decided to ramp up my training and took leave to climb on a weekday. I was parked at the foot of the hill at my usual time of 7am, when my phone rang. It was a problem at work (we work 24 hours) Feeling a little irritated having to work on my off day and having to start my hike late, I just watched the people arrive and start their climb. Instead of the usual leisure weekend crowds, I only saw 2 couples arriving. Then a car parked next to me and 3 excited girls piled out, laughing away and making a lot of noise getting ready. Keeping my eye on them, I continued talking to my staff to resolve the problems. They looked in their early to mid 20s and fit. They quickly walked into the trail and I returned my focus to my call. Finally, by 8am the call was done and I quickly grabbed my gear and walked into the trail…

I was making good pace in the trail, determined to make up the time spent on the phone with my staff. Pretty soon, I was 30 minutes into my hike when I hear a scream ahead. Wondering what happened, I quickened my pace and as I turned the corner, I saw one of the girls lying at the bottom on a slope in obvious pain. The other 2 were kneeling next to her looking panicked.

'Is she ok?' I asked. 'She fell down and she's bleeding and her right leg hurts badly. I dunno if it is broken' said one of the girls while pointing at the track bottoms with blood on the thigh part. I quickly did an overall check, making sure there were no serious problems to her back then suggested that we move her into the shade. Once there, I told the injured girl, 'I need to check your leg and stop the bleeding, to do that, I need you to take off your track bottoms.' She just nodded and I told her friends to help her remove it. Slowly, while I lifted her, they peeled off her track bottoms revealing a nice pair of long tanned legs with.....

If its fiction, u lack details; If its true life event, u fucking lack details. We got camera men who knows their equipments very well and the way they describe their gears simply add excitement and realistic feel to those 'stories'.
