108 Vietnamese women rescued during vice raid

SERI MANJUNG: A total of 108 Vietnamese women were rescued during a three-hour raid on two premises here this morning by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit from Bukit Aman.

The women, between the age of 16 and 32, were believed to have been lured to come to Malaysia to work here.

But, instead of being given proper work they found themselves being forced to entertain male clients as "guest relations officers" at an entertainment outlet and a restaurant here.

Bukit Aman's Gambling, Vices and Secret Society Division (D7) officer Superintendent Ang Ah Ban said the raid was carried out at 11pm on Saturday and ended at 2am this morning.

When met after at the end of the raid, he said around 100 clients at the two premises were also detained for questioning to identify the actual owners of the premises
