Re: Vietnam

hahhah, its true, there are lots of whore in Vietnam and they earn money after providing sexual services. hahhah, its true also, there are lots of gals in Singapore that provides sexual services to chao ang moh but its free, so who's clever? Singapore may seem to be rich, but how many singaporean can buy a car without loan? Buy a house without a loan? Singaporean are asset rich but cash poor. So we aren't that fantastic either. We should take these lesser developed countries as opportunties and avenues for us to venture into and make some decent money from, instead of blasting whatever news that comes from there.

If any one wants to make comments on Vietnam or other lesser developed countries, please ensure that you have been in that country for a long period of time, understand their culture and history. If comments are made based on limited knowledge , then its better to keep the comments to oneself.

Re: Vietnam

As per thread title, here's another side of the story:

Dangerous Deceptions
Over the past ten years the trafficking of women and children throughout Asia into the sex trade has skyrocketed. To date, about 30,000 Vietnamese girls have been sold to brothels in Cambodia alone. Though Vietnamese make up only about 5% of Cambodia’s population, they comprise 60% of the capital city’s prostitutes — and one-third of the country’s virginity sales. Vietnamese girls are also unwittingly — or unwillingly — trafficked to Malaysia, Laos, Thailand, and other East Asian countries.

Trafficking rings often snag unsuspecting girls by posing as professional businessmen seeking to recruit “factory workers” to fill lucrative jobs. But once across the border, instead of taking the new recruits to a factory, they force them to work in a brothel. Phony recruiters purposely target remote, rural villages where people are not yet aware of human trafficking; and where illiterate, desperately poor girls can be easily duped into chasing a dream: an end to their poverty. Instead, they find a nightmare — an end to their innocence.

In addition to hiring schemes, poor Vietnamese girls are also deceptively lured into overseas marriages. In recent years more than 150,000 desperately poor, illiterate young brides have been brokered to men in Taiwan, China, South Korea, and beyond. They believe marrying a foreigner will give them a better way of life, a higher standard of living, and access to resources they can send back to their poor families in Vietnam. They believe it’s their only way out of poverty. Sadly, once these Vietnamese brides arrive in their new country, most are made domestic slaves or forced into prostitution.

And the practice continues. Young girls from remote areas are less likely to have heard the horror stories of brides who have gone before them. And even if they had, they are desperate enough to believe those things won’t happen to them. Once these girls are married off, though, their families often lose contact and remain clueless of the torture they endure daily.

Vulnerable Targets
Unfortunately, it’s the poorest of the poor who are most at risk of falling victim. In Vietnam these are usually ethnic minorities who live in rural villages, where people are still naive to dangerous, deceptive schemes. That’s because public awareness is inhibited by their sheer remoteness combined with mass illiteracy. Illiteracy in these remote areas, especially among women, is a condition of the poverty so common to rural villages. Families are so destitute that parents can barely scrape together enough to eat. They cannot afford to pay school fees or to provide uniforms, school supplies and transportation for all their children. Economics forces them to choose who goes to school and who stays at home. Unfortunately, they are more likely to send the boys to school, and keep the girls home to do domestic chores and work in the fields. So girls remain uneducated, illiterate, and trapped in their poverty - The Perfect Victims.

In the rare event that a trafficking victim is able to break free from her bondage, she faces more hardship once she returns home. She must endure the stigma of having prostituted herself, even though it was against her will. She is reluctant to report her experience to the authorities for fear of being punished for illegal border crossing. And she lives with the constant fear of retaliation by her captors. What’s more, she bears the same hopeless life of poverty she tried to flee in the first place. Escaped victims desperately need emotional and tangible support to rebuild their lives and restore their dignity.

Recent international laws and cooperative stings are cracking down on human trafficking. As a result of heightened efforts, many girls have been rescued. But the increased crackdowns still barely skim the surface of the sex trade. Greed and corruption still reign. In fact many police have been found frequenting — and even operating — brothels. Truth is, as long as poor girls are trapped in poverty there will always be bodies to feed the sex trade. The real solution: give them another way out.

I know that we might argue: "Does above give them the right to cheat us of our emotion and money? Nope, but it is always dangerous to single out any one group of people as the culprits for our problems. Some are to blame, and some aren't. The ones that are to blame are the ones that translates money into greed and becomes demonic. No one chooses to be poor, anymore than anyone chooses to catch the H1N1 flu. Often times it's the result of conditions and situations that are beyond their control.

Happy reading.

Re: Vietnam

I totally agree with bro BKnight... It may seem easy money to do prostituting... but who really want to sell their body unless she is really hard core type. Remember Vietnam is still a very conservative country and if news of them being a prostitution spreads... the stigma that comes with it... Anyway wat can Singaporean do in Vietnam for a year... Thinking of going over there to live for a year...

And this is the reason why I can't stress enough that Cambodia is a better place to get hot Viet chicks than Vietnam itself.
