Our motorcycle club will be having our annual road trip from KL to Krabi and will be stopping over in Hatyai on the return journey. It is 4D3N trip from 13/04/17 to 16/04/17. Interested bikers may ride along with us and non bikers can also join us in Hatyai.

Thats a crazy time to go on a road trip in LOS as the roads will be jammed packed with thais travelling home for songkran.

My guess is that they are trying very hard to stem the flow of sources of help and finance ; to negatigate and settle down the southern militancy ; since malaysia is already next door, they do not want to encounter another source from the indonesians side. They can only fight one at a time.

They knew that most indonesians could just ferry themselves into peninsula malaysia by flimsy boats without much hassle; and crossed into their border easily.

Since you left long long time ago ; many have sprung up ,the old ones taken over and some got new face lifts . Just walk around u can see for yourself......

Depending on your budgets there are many many choices. No exact best . Only locality. many are enjoyable.
The only best things are , they must have free wifi in the room , air cond, satellite tv, fridge, hot water to bathe and kettle to make hot drink. Most of the hotels have all these for 700b to 950b.
