No lah,that statement was posted due to true situations that i faced while staying here.Quite differently from what he said.Anyway i mingle with the local down to earth thais,not the type perhaps for him is High-so.

The reason why perhaps Asians are able to mingle well with the thais.Since there are thai-chinese in bkk after all.They looked the same as the chinese in singapore anyway.I do not know how they feel regarding me here to bonk their woman but i reckon they will have the impression of the girls going after me for cos i have higher earning power than them.

well as i said,they would offer me food and drinks whenever they see me.Though i often would decline politely,since i am a non drinker and the food is not too much to my liking.I do enjoy able to club ard,perhaps the place i am hanging out,they do not see too many "FT" there.So they go really friendly to me.Lending me dvds[new shows some more],finding buddha amulets and many others.Also always asking me to join them for weekends discos outings.True,maybe end of the stay,they ask me blanjah them seafood,but ok lah since my place here quite cheap for everything.

True,asians can blend in better than farangs i guess.More often when i told the thais that i am not a khon thai,they will stare at me in disbelief.Of course,the daily life is very different,comparing things or situations will onli result in problems.Singapore living standards and thailand is so much different.Furthermore u just can easily find a litterbin and a washroom anywhere as u walk along the streets.For singapore at least u can do so.

Money is never enough,having enough is suffice.Every country has pros and cons.Singapore is a good place to stay in,but the living standards are very high,but thailand has lower costs,the security,air pollution and the environment is lesser desirable.

Because spore is clean and safe.Almost all farangs who asked me where i am from,when i said from singapore,they would say it's a good country to stay in.

Bombs detonate daily in the south,so as i read in the papers.I really wonder what the government will take as the last straw until they will really tackle the unrest in the south.I would not want to stay there for a day for u never know tomorrow u be gunned down or blown to pieces while u went out to pay for something.Luckily its onli in the south.Not spreading to bkk.

I never did any cambodia visa runs. I just go SG-BKK-SG, and stay a few days only in LOS each time. I think if you keep extending and don't spend even a bit of time overseas, maybe you will get questioned. But seems many farangs stay in LOS this way.

I've stayed here for almost 2 yrs, learnt Thai language for 7 years, speak Thai to my colleagues and clients everyday, the most they say I "phoot paasaa tai geng mark", but they still know I'm foreigner leh.

The amount given to you would be based on your creditability. In general, they give up to 2 times your salary or up to THB200,000 for Gold card and up to THB500,000 for the platinum

Depends,
Firstly, it is the status thing......How many Thais actually earn more than THB249,999 a month? For Central Platinum Card

Secondly, for double points and cheaper air tickets i.e. Siam Commercial Bank's Platinum Card. For SCB Card the minimum is THB100,000 for foreigners

Check with their branches for the information. Their website are not updated.

well,in terms of knowledge of thai and bkk,i am still much to learn from u.

That phrase of "phut phasa thai keng mak" i also always listen that from the girls i talk to,but i know my knowledge of thai language is limited at the moment.They are just making me happy.I believe u speak thai really well since u learnt in for 7yrs.I do not know also why i can hang out with khon thais,i guess i look like one now.

Today, I got Mrs Cat Man to make enquiries again at Bangkok Bank and Siam Commercial Bank (both are Petchburi Road branches near where Petchburi joins Wireless Rd and Soi Chidlom).

Bangkok Bank (Bualuang services) said foreigner with work permit but no PR can loan up to 80% of the condo price depending on salary/credit history (Apparently I think when I enquired at Ploenchit Rd branch, the staff "mai roo reung").

SCB said same thing, foreigner with work permit can get loan, but only up to 60%-70%.

Time to start looking around

Careful on the cambodian visa runs. It can be a problem if you do that every month. I have seen people get into inconvenience at the whim of the officer.

The last thing anybody wants is to be kept in no man's land at cambodia for a month visa extension.

You need to vary your pattern, not monthly to cambodia. Sure kena if you do.

Do u mean at the thai immigration at the borders or the airport?I have been doing it for many times already.They do not really care since there are hundreds of them doing visa runs daily,by jackgolf and other agencies too. perhaps u can clarify what u referring to?
