is also promoted and encouraged by the govt (public sector) and followed by the private sector employers maybe to reduce costs in the organisations.No point raising the retirement age to 62 when even the govt want to retrench
workers when they are over 40.This ageism (discrimination on grounds of age) is openly practised in Singapore by the govt and private sector employers,which is immorally and legally wrong !Remember ,employers in developed countries like US,UK and Australia and NZ can be sued if they try
to exploit workers based on age,sex,race and gender.When u are at 40,u are experienced,matured ,knowledgeable and a productive veteran,even Deng Xiao Peng and Ronald Reagan became Chairman of PRC and President of the USA at the age of 80,even Senior SM Lee at 80 also don't want to retire,so what is reaching the age of 40+ ,basically nothing wrong ,it all boils down
