Hmmm. I guess if you travel to different countries in a month, it is worth it. My Batam sim card is only $5, valid for 3 months and have 3 gig.

Hmm...done laundry in the hotel for free,they even send it to my room within about half a day (in a couple of hours). So nowaday,i can arrive to Batam almost empty-handed,i need only bring my passport,my wallet and my mobile phone (maybe a small sling bag for my laptop,those who knows me well probably knew i can also forgo this and yet still have a (few) computer to use),hehehe... the only problem i have is emptying myself of my belongings from Harbour Front immigration custom side. Hmm...baby step a time,my Batam trip improved,hehehe...

The hotel who wash my clothing perfumed them so much that i sometime feel as if those clothes were no longer mine. Maybe i should ask them not to put perfumes on it in future. I smell like a living sun flower when i step out of hotel with the after-washed clothes on,hehehe...

Just went to sign up for an IM3 sim card upon stepping out of Batam immigration custom for just sms and phone calls,no need registration,hehehe...no need show passport too.

....50k rupiah (not cheap).

According to the guy i bought the sim card from,Telkomsel and the rest of the other sim card,need to buy from their respective brand main vendor.

The smell came from the softener.
So you can't ask them not to "perfume" your clothing.
Flankly speaking...
I also can't tahan the strong smell...

Just realise XE rate shot up to 10600 last night at about 11pm and level at around 10552-3

Let see tmr how it go.

I think i will go buy a new T-shirts and have it washed for later wear. Smell may be a little unbearable,so i am going to try to figure out how to get rid of it. (smell is still better than having moth ball smell)

I got 10500 rupiah/SGD on Sunday noon with S$250. I think the rate as of 23.04.2018 morning should be about the same,i will go ask for the rate in the later noon time again. Usually Sunday rate is taken from Friday/Saturday's figures.

Haven't stepped into Batam since mid 2016. Previously need to travel there for business almost every alternate week.
Just to check what are the changes in the market price for massages?
Previously 100k can have a 90min massage. HJ can go as low as 50k for a ma jit ML.
Are joints like Delta, Alanta and Octopus still around? What are the prices now?
Planning a trip to go Batam next week.

What so scary about Batam? You just need to exercise due diligence with whatever you are doing. Food, hotel, beer, girls are cheaper in Batam.
If you not intend to go searching the joints, MP, spas, etc, just stay in you room and search for girls online using WeChat and what have you. Negotiate, do a video call for ST (short time) or a message. 300 to 400k IDR for ST and about 100 to 200k for message. Lock all stuff in safe and meet girl in lobby of hotel. Only bring girl up to room if you are happy otherwise reject them with some transport money. Do not book for LT as the girls will run while you are bathing unless they agree to payment at the end of stay. Batam is as safe as you want. Cheers.
