That evening had dinner in Mercure and went to Marriot to join SG expat meeting, followed some folks to Blok M for Karaoke and left early at 11p. Back to hotel at midnite and walked somewhat with trepidation to Hotel J and saw Super across the street. Sat at the bar and enjoyed the Chinese songs a bit but saw no particular gal of interest, then followed other customers through a backdoor into "massage" area where I was shown pictures of ??60 gals (many not working that day though). None particularly caught my fancy, but it was late, so I picked one. Usually pictures look better than real persons, but wow, in this case the gal was much prettier than the picture, an 8/10 (certainly much much better than anyone I saw at Blok M). Service was ok at 7/10 but she was very pleasant (I would have taken her back to hotel if I had the stamina, but I was spent for the day..) and all in all I was quite satisfied and walked with similar trepidation at 1am back to Mercure. Luckily, one OKT started talking me in Chinese and asked if I wanted a gal (this is not the same white haired old man Mr. Yap mentioned previously in this forum, Mr. Yap is on right side (nearer to Super) as you exit Hotel Y, this man takes position on the left, and his name is Ah Sang). He says his gals are much better than SUPERs and include even a gal from Beijing - which of course I am not interested (cant be too good if need to find food in Jakarta all the way from Beijing, right? Would be at Tien Shang Ren Jian in Beijing, or Shenzhen, right?), but I kept chatting with him, and he essentially chaperoned me back to Mercure, whew!!

Day#2. Got up early and checked out of hotel (booked into Le Meridien, as I had planned to meet up with the Indonesian gals I met via email, all quite well educated/positioned etc and may be appalled at my staying in the Mercure area!) and started walking according your (Phenom's) directions towards the Pangeran Jakarta to look for LA Bar etc... After a LONG walk (30 minute) but a very safe one, during the day ... I ended up on Pangeran Jakarta, but see no MTR (which stands for the subway station in HKG, so thats what I was looking for) or any of the other places mentioned, until I saw on my left a big sign for PURI HANDAYARI which I remembered as a massage place, so I venture into that block - and lo and behold, I saw MTR, and Sariayu and all those places mentioned on this board!!! Still it was only noon, so I went to PURI Handayari and did the hot bath/cold bath/steam/and a 3 hour massage+scrub all totalling 250k There was no offer of sex from the gal (and I wouldnt have wanted it with HER anyway, as I was assigned a 4/10 by mamasan, perhaps since I speak no Indonesian). After the massage, which was a 6/10 (I wouldnt do it again, nothing compared to Bangkok, or HKG) but was relaxing...I had lunch in the PURI joint and then left to go to LA Bar which was right next door! Packed with gals, and an old mamasan tried to intro some to me, none that I fancied and I asked for Yuli as suggested by Phenom, but was told she's off. Anyway, mamasan insisted a "good one" for me and for 150k I promptly took her upstairs. She was new, was nice enough but offered precious little service, but hey, its only 150k! So I came back down and after another Bintang, asked for Mr. Wong (Ooi) or as he goes there by "Captain William Stanley" (Not "SteadY" as posted somewhere in this forum) - I got his card. As he speaks some Mandarin, I told him 1st gal no good etc, and he brought one along - name I didnt try to remember - but who was very petite (compared to cantaloupe types at SUPER and KARTIKA last nite) but dainty, gentle and WILD in bed. Did not even to bother to use condom ( I was scared and had to insist) but wow, love-making like long lost darling and this time I was quite fully satisfied. Took down Captain William Stanleys number and said I'd call him and have him bring some gals to the hotel at night.... but anyway, I had a date with one of my email gal-friends in Jakarta at the Meridien, so went back to Mercure and went to Meridien to check in ... the gal "D" was late and brought two friends, she was as gorgeous as her photos and turned out she was a Batak singer (SONY label Indonesia) songstress and quite hot (but conservative) ... rest I will not discuss lah, sorry guys - but I stayed another 2 days in Jakarta, and though I had wanted to, I never had the time to venture back to LA Bar again this time (next time must though) as I was occupied with the 2 gals I met from the net... Thx again guys, and I really regret missing the opportunity to meet some of you in person, but I am sure I will be back in JKT after this fling.

"Man proposes, god disposes" or "ren shuan bu ru tian shuan" - how very true. It seems I'll have to take a raincheck(no pun intended, Rainman) on the Jkt gathering. My Jkt trip this month have to be postponed to the next as I'm suddenly required to be at the other 2 fav chiong places. Just back from a five-nighter in Bkk and will be in Womanila - oops, I mean Manila - from 14/8 to 18/8 and 24/8 to 1/9. I'll of course be trying to squeeze in a few days for Jkt in between the Manila ones but its highly unlikely that I can make it.

Hi Ray, I'm afraid I can't take credit for something done by another. The hotel booking was by Rainman, if I'm not mistaken.
So, how is Jkt compared to the mean streets of Harlem etc.....Rather tame isn't it?

Excuse me? Harlem NY? The streets in Harlem are tame, as far as I remember. In the 90s Harlem was changing to a No.1 tourist spot with a don't-go-borderline moving rapidly to the north. Even the south bronx wasn't that crucial anymore. I think JKT isn't that safe as Harlem.

East Harlem is still mean! Streets near Kota weren't bad especially the main stretch along Jln Pangeran, but the alley leading into Kartika at dusk, in Blok "C", and on my way from SUPER back to Mercure did put me on heightened alert somewhat and I walked a brisk pace (BTW, I tried to look "tough" by wearing sunglasses which makes me look like a 14K in HKG, but I noticed no one seems to wear sunglasses in JKT and so I stood out like a sore thumb! LOL!!)

That mention of Harlem is just a reference to an earlier remark of rc1221. To me that place is no more dangerous than any other I've been to, though it did scared the shit out of a young punk companion who was initially full of false bravado.
Jkt despite all the migrant undesirables is still not that bad. For a decade, I often prowl the streets and alleys at times till the wee hours and had yet to encounter any case of unpleasantness (though it doesn't mean that I would never). In fact I would say that Jkt is way safer than Manila; another of my fav chionging haunts. Anyway to reiterate my oftmentioned dictum; for the worldywise or foolhardly (depending on different points of view) no chiong place is too dangerous to explore.

I'd be flogged if my ID exposed!!] your frens were most gracious, one of them ( Jasp...) was most kind to take time out of the Karaoke to have his chauffeur take me back to Mercure even as I insisted on boarding a taxi, but I asked the chauffeur to drop me off at Hotel J instead and from there I went over to SUPER, and had a SUPER time! Never found stadium though ... someone posted that its on a street parallel to Kartika, but still I walked around and around but never saw "Stadium" ... nevertheless, saw enough fruits already...
