Top Disco in Bangkok?

Cutting edge dance music has always been led by the ang mor community and the blacks, recently the Indian chill-out, dance and Bhangra music have made their impact.

This is expected anyway.

If you want to look for places that have no or less ang mors, then DanceFever an Hollywood discos in Ratchada are the places since Sparks disco (located under Emerald Hotel) has closed down are the places or places like Carribean and Forte are the ones but check with the mama-sans on which girls do sex services, other places are Rao 1 and Rao 2, I went there in Feb 2005, learnt about -

1) straight sex hire girls
2) PR girls
3) dancer girls

where 2) and 3) for sex services have to be negotiated separately and it depends on many factors other than just price.

I would sum up chances at these 3 places in terms of the cool disco in RCA..... "Slim"
If U go this Route (another RCA joint, hehe) just to pick up FLs immediately, then U will be disappointed. U need to go these places and groove and oil ard a bit but you get a better strike rate...even then it is probably in 10-20% bracket.
Also 2000b for overnite for these places is once in a blue moon.
For 2000b, the top FL places (the famous 2 Siams) only give U ST so you cannot expect much with 2000b in those minimum FL places U mentioned.

Caribbean and Rao are basically niteclubs/g-clubs and different kettles of fish from discos though so really cannot compare.
Though in category of niteclubs/g-clubs, I would rate Caribbean, Soprano House, Pegasus higher than Rao2 in terms of quality, ambience and of 'cos, price

i think Hip Hop is the trend in BKK now ....

went to ESCUDO last wk and the place is quite "IN" ....
all night long .. hip hop music only ...

but they played disco music on the second floor ...

but the crowd is on the hip hop floor ..

Zantika? hehehe.....yeah but their understanding of hip hop is not "up there" yet. Their management is actually a bunch of hi-so young adults, some of them perform in the resident band.

a lot of successful WLs go there to party. u will see asian foreigners playing pool at the pool table but you'll get to see the hi-so youngsters always hogging the pool table, if u play, go and play pool there.

not bad place to party, my advice if u want to play in Zantika - dress to kill..... and go and play pool there. dont speak thai, speak english in a humble way, get to make friends with the hi-so...actually they are quite plastic anyway but you will get a lot of chicks flirting with you.

Wow..Escudo at Thonglor...havent been there for a while..plenty of cute babes there. weekend usually pack like sardine & true enough, they only play hip hop...

OK...while we R on music ..just my blunt opinion but I reckon Hip Hop is horrible music.. Not hot and powerful enuff to rock and the same tunes all the time....maybe guys like JayZ should get more creative (though I won't mind being in his position minting millions and bonking Beyonce)

Just love those off-centre stuff like Romanian/Moldavan (eg. stuff by
O-zone ) and Punjabi/Indian dance music now though..

Yes, I did not go to RCA, Thonglor, etc since I was too tired this week to do any clubbing. I needed some quick target and that's why I went to CM2 at Novotel Siam Square as the other thread suggested. For FR, pls refer to the thread, FL pick up joint as it is more appropriate to post it there...

Need to share my learnings related to discos. What I heard from MP girls (first hand, not rumours) that they always visit discos afterwork (understandable). They quoted RCA slim and Escudo at Thonglor their favorite places. Therefore, some of those cute girls you see at those places may be professionals in the day time. Anway, who cares as long as we enjoy the fun of approaching/be approached by girls.

Will explore those places at Thonglor and RCA in the next 2 weeks when I gather some energy over the weekend.

when nightbirds go to places like Escudo, Slim, Zantika, Song Ser Luern, etc to play, they go for guys who exude charm, looks or $$$ (not the stupid throw money kind of guys, unless the girls are in for a quick kill and the guys really appear to be stupid asses).

it is true about the multi-satelite station... it's amazing to also see how they manage to bring company/friends to suit the client/"self-proclaimed cheongsters" in such places...
