I didnt know about the house.

What I encountered was right out of a movie..except that me was in the script. The staffs there were sort of like "another strange encountered" kind of reaction. They were not surprised and I wondered why ?? I think bros here will find it funny if I post what happened..

The fccking empty beds moved toward where I was standing in broad daylight!!! Goose bump now even I am recalling the incident now..

according to ZaoBao of 16 & 17 Aug 2009, the dead man, Chua Eng Soon,43, failed in his businesses & was in ahlong debt. Woman was Yap May Ting, 39. They booked in on Friday (14/8/09) evening for overnight stay & were expected to check-out on Sat 12 noon. Ms Yap lived with hubby, two parents, son in sec1, daughter in poly plus a maid. Both lived in Hougang & were neighbours. Not all rooms got smoke detectors. if not, smokers could easily activate the fire alarm if they smoke inside the room if the smoke detectors are hyper-sensitive. not easy living in Sinca Por. rest in peace.

As for what bro t123 talk about, i think he mix up with the temple festival that celebrate the birthday of the 9th heavenly prince or king. A deity that teochews pray in the past, the temple is just opposite the crocodile farm. The temple is still there, i think the celebration is on the 9th day of the 9th month of the lunar calender. When i was a kid, it was a very big event, tentages will be set up, crowds of devotees with incense burning and chinese opera on the stage.

i not sure if it call sanctuary for brotherhood. It beside the big catholic church at the junction of Upper Serangoon Road and Punggol Road, before the old "kang ka" bus terminal. It was still around in the 1980s before it was clear to built the red brick HDB flats. That time i only primary school, at least 25 years ago.

I stayed in punggol before kenna relocated by govt to hougang new town. Had stay other places in between the years but still return to hougang eventually. Had seen the development of the Upper Serangoon Road for the past 30 years. Still remember the low red brick wall outside the 9th Prince Temple, sit on top of it while wait for bus 82 / 83 back to punggol. And also the night market at the Sixth Mile Point atop the big LongKang. Authentic teochew food and the fav muai chee.

Also, to add on about the cemetry beside Holy Innocent's Lane: They were exhumed during the early 80s and i still remember they found quite a few total 'in tact' bodies...ie not decomposed! My school was just beside! could see the workers removing the them in white boxes. If i am not wrong this was also report in the straits time.

And before they built that MSCP, the soil was relocated near by... so i have really avoided that area. Many incident heard so far from people there!

Think the 'sanctuary for brotherhood' that is mentioned used to be St Francis Xavier Saminary... just opposite the church

u seems to be older than me, early 80s i only kindergarten. Dont recall coffin shop in kang ka but u r right, there seems to be newspaper reports regarding the exhumation of the old cemetery. i remember that cemetery because i always avoid seeing it before the SBS bus turn from Upper Serangoon to Punggol Road. All i remember was it located after holy innocent sec but before the big catholic church.

As for those food stalls at the 6 mile point, some can be find at the Old Airport Road Hawker Centre. Not many left as their children didnt continue. The muai chee move to hougang ave 8 blk 682, run by his son. During CNY, the muai chee is black in color as he use sesame seed.
