Hi guys, I will be going Jakarta next week for the first time. Is there any happening places that I should explore around "Menara Peninsula Hotel"? Preferably walking distance.

Around your hotel, there are very few places within walking distance.
But 10 mins drive there is tropical spa in Roxy mas mall.
The owner is a great guy, honest and easy going.
Going 30 mins towards China town there are lots of wonderful places.
Hope this could help.

I just want to let you guys know that if you have to come to Jakarta for a trip, do not know your way around; and do not mind spending a bit of premium $$ for transport and guiding to show you the night life.
The best way is to have a local friend to show you around; but there is always the free and easy, by taking the taxi and going at it alone.
If you want to be pampered and have a well planned and prepared hassle free night, feel free to contact our company.
We do charge a fee, but you will be the judge if our services in on par with the price we quote.

There is a KTV called Deluxe in your hotel, not to forget FM1 boutique SPA also are within walking distance if you don't mind to walk around 20-25 minutes. but I really not suggest you to do so especially at night.
