somehow my august trip was still good weather, however last weekend in ac there was a scale 3 typhoon, lasted 1 whole day. just strong wind at night. black out over some hotels and bars. power tripped few times while bonking. no electricity you can still bonk... but no water could be a bigger problem.

Many pubs n disco there.
Just beware of beggars. Especially those kids. They will pick pocket you. So be aware of your pockets n bag.

KTV not meant for tourist. They are cater for business ppl there n look for contract lover.

You are going at their festive season. Maybe they will try to chop you cos they really need lots of money to party n celebrate their Christmas n New Year.

it's lovely to be in PH during Christmas- everybody says Merry Christmas, expecting a 'gift' for celebration - never mind that I am on low budget and no spare money in my pocket too !!

Like the time I took a ferry and when the porter said Merry Christmas and I shook his hand and didnt' give money, he left my bag behind. Till I went down, and he reminded me it is not in their culture to shake hand with no money.

So Merry Christmas again, with 200 peso and my luggage was loaded.

And lesson I learnt ? Next time, if you need to take a ferry, try not to bring big luggage, bring luggage you can haul yourself

Years ago, the NAIA management banned any staff wishing merry christmas to visitors as everybody knew that meant 'give me money' !!!
