If you like to stroll, go get yourself a wifi, I believe there's a lot of wifi rentals, and yes, you can get a local sim for only 40php, and load it up on 7-11, then you can have your map with you, taxis are not advisable, uber/grab is better, they charge a bit higher but you are 100% safe. Getting girls online is also a good one, they will go to your hotel, less hassle.

Makati is throwing a big birthday bash for itself tomorrow. Roads will be closed. There will be a parade in the afternoon followed by a block party at nite. Authorities warn of heavy traffic.

To all bros, please be careful when you play in Makati. I was a noob and got scammed there. Long story short... i wanted a massage and of course some happy ending. Made a terrble mistake of getting one through wechat. I thought i screened the girl thru video call I would be safe but I was so wrong. My eyes must be blinded but the girl who came was a ladyboy... i should have suspected when she refused to strip or allow touching. Anyway after a quick 5 mins massage she proceeded to HJ. After the deed she demanded 14k peso... of course I didnt have that much but I thought I could just be a 1 time carrot.and get her out.of.my.room with 10k. Butnshe refused and wanted to call her boss... I didnt want to have trouble because I was on a worktrip. I pretended i can draw cash nearby and she demanded to go with me. When we were at lobby I told her I needed to just to speak to counter. When she sat at the lounge I spoke to the security and the hotel managed to help me settle it. They escorted me away and called the police to throw her out and bar her from the hotel. I didnt get my money back of course..
But it was a small price to pay for safety. Stay safe my fellow bros... don't make the same mistake I did.

It is all cool. If losing a couple of hundreds can exchange for safety it isn't much. The ladyboy got barred so he lost access to 1 hotel now... I was more pissed than anything. Part of me really wanted to pick him up and throw him outnof my room... but I didnt want trouble with the local police... whom in my opinion are just as corrupted. A good lesson learnt for me.
