same la..domestic means householdor family...so domestic helper mean helper at home or to a family . It sound better than calling as maid.

just like a prostiture..they wont call themself chicken or WL, rather call them as social escort sound more professional .....

My curiousity stemmed from the first time I read this thread. Went around neighbours looking and tried to talk to a couple of maids but just felt weird talking in the open. It just felt like eyes were watching me trying to hook up the maid.
