Dear Datuk,

you are 101% right on this matter. But it seems like most of the ex-WLs (or the guys) would very much want to apply PR status for the girl so that they can once-and-for all stay in Sg together w/o the hassle of extending permit perioically.

Those who wish to apply PR status for their married spouse (ex-Cat 40 WLs) listen up, there is no way that your spouse will get PR status if they had used a different name / passport to re-enter Sg, unless she put her 10 fingers on hot plate and burn 'em ..............

This kinda old trick u also dare teach.. I think the immigration officers will laugh when they see 10 burnt fingers and in fact conduct a more throughout check!

I got a friend married with ex-cat40 WL give birth to 3 kids....wife already here 10 years on a different name passport...eldest kid already 8 years old.....every year go renew green card also scare because ICA will 'invite' her to do PR.....they worry coz running out of excuses to reject already....sway sway one day ICA suspicious ask for fingerprints then end of happy family liao....ALWAYS THINK b4 YOU ACT.....

the postings here a bit ambiguous. Simply can say

If want to renew green card, use actual name and passport. Don't try using fake name or another passport.

If ICA take fingerprints and before that already declared is WL before, will not be prosecuted.

another method that probably has less red tapes is to migrate & settle down else where. new location, new beginning, new life... for both spouses.
