Re: 164 Days in Singapore Changi Prison

Sometimes i think gg to jail does not mean that a person has done something wrong. For eg, no $ to pay for traffic fine, or no $ to pay maintenance fee or worst out of sudden someone u dunnoe attack u n u one punch one kill him. N also anything involve charbo, the man also might go jail, ie regret after sex is called rape or when a woman insist its a molest...so i still think, doesn‘t did anything wrong doesn‘t mean one will not end up in jail.

if well behave, plus prison overcrowded, I would expect him to serve less than 1/2 his sentence before home tagging

True that ex-convicts had already served their time. Really hope that the society will give them a chance to get back on their feet. If the society don't give them a chance, chances are they will go back to their old ways. So who is at fault here ?

I was convicted for a non criminal offense and released from prison 7 months ago and still having a hard time finding a job with decent pay.

All because of this question: Have you ever been convicted in a court of law?

It used to be this question: Do you have a criminal record?

But after it was allowed for small offended to be marked spent after 5 years and made it possible for ex-offenders to answer No to having a criminal record, recruiters changed the question to the new one along about conviction.

Talk about Yellow Ribbon Project and giving ex-offenders a second chance? The people blowing the loudest trumpet are the ones most guilty of not giving us a second chance. ooIoo

FYI, Yellow Ribbon Project exist is because they have to "TRY" to help the ex-offenders to get a second chance but is not "COMPULSORY" to help.

Previously I did met a few ex-convicts during the interview, they always share with me that Yellow Ribbon Project didn't really manage to help as they always "Introduce" OR "Forced" people to take up super lowly salary job e.g. less than $800 a month from a start

Seriously who the fuck can survive with this peanut in current high living expense, sometime can't really blame this group of people who turn back to their old way. Is not because they doesn't want to give themselves a chance or rather I would said this country doesn't really give them a chance at all

Re: 164 Days in Singapore Changi Prison

For fine, it ok cos there isn't a criminal record. For prison, there is a record

Most companies could not check whether you had be to prison before unless the job related to Security. I had checked with one of the officers in SPF there are not supposed to reveal anything unless you had any case on going. If not, they will not reveal.

I had checked with also the ex-convict. Normally, for those short terms, if you are afraid that you couldn't get a job, just tick no cos most of the time they can't check and verify with the police

Re: 164 Days in Singapore Changi Prison

Yellow ribbon is a crap thing, so this garment giving ex convict a second chance in life.

U are not allowed to take a taxi license after release and must wait a few years later before given a chance.

U are not allowed to work in insurance or property industry.

U are also not allowed into any of the places like airport cargo or jurong island where the cb garment control. What happen if you are working in a delivery company or any of the private company that require access into the area.

SO MY FINAL POINT IS: IS OUR SO CALL CB GARMENT GIVING EX CONVICT A 2ND CHANCE IN LIFE?

NO NO NO
