I have done such fishing and hanging around in early days and what is main turn off is that the leftovers and untaken/unwanted ones are those like you say not cream of the crop. And I would pay anytime for cream of the crop rather than get free from the crop. Plus it is time consuming and time wasting hanging around same bar trying to get free leftovers when could have spent the nite partying away elsewhere. This tactic is for those who have lots of time to kill and not for those who go to BKK on short trips

Hmm, but so far have no urger for DIY on overseas trip. Usually, if go back hotel alone, take nice bath in bathtub follow by supper food tabao from roadside stall and then have nice sleep so can get up fresh next morning to continue drinking

Yes I agree the "Closing Time Bar Fishing" method is too time consuming and not suitable for those (majority) on short trips.

If you look at my Bangkok 1 Night Cheong Itinenary.
You can see a lot can be accomplished if you stay very focused.

Went went with a friend on a weekday nite and got really harfassed by a waitress on the second floor. She kept on asking us if we wanted another drink even tho we hadnt finished. Finally she grabbed a drink menu and stuck it in our faces and told us to order. When we said no, she picked up the bill and told us to pay up and get out. She certainly didn't get a tip out of us.

The guy sitting next to us was barely drinking anything, but he had a beer in the bottle, so they waitress couldnt see how much he had left, while we had drink in glasses.

BTW, if youre seeing a lot of Jp guys in th go-gos, its because its the summer holiday season.

Thermae

Has been really packed on weekends. Heard it was busy even last Monday. Not only are there a lot of Jp guys, since its their vacation season, but also more Koreans are apparently going there.

Heard that the girls are going there earlier. My friend (guy) now goes there to hunt for puyings like at 8:30 pm.

It seems like there were some younger girls earlier in the evening. By midnite theyre all gone.

Theres one girl who used to be a GG dancer at RB4. She was the top girl there...at least her badge number was 001. She seemed to be a little goofy to me. Never saw her go with a farang. But saw her dancing at RB4 even after she started working at Thermae. It seems to me that it would be a step down for her to work at Thermae. Wouldn't mind going with her tho if she ever took notice of me. She has nice legs.

Note: Thermae may have to close on Thursday and Friday for Buddhist holidays.
