Bro, this is unfair too. I have told you my background in your own thread. This place is wonderful because i worked fucking hard to make things wonderful for me.

And so what if my parent was a migrant? How many Singaporeans didn't come from migrant background if you trace back a few generations? What's your point in raising that? BTW, I didn't mention to you in your thread but she was Malaysian. Not v far from home but a huge difference in lifestyle and politics.

I thanks all for great response. I seldom like to respond to this.

Sometimes we got to do something if not everyone hate this government or that find someone to be all the blame for their misventure or bad luck that they had till now.

Everything we do or decide have a great impact or bearing on our future or times to come. Once decided what you want or to do, we got to take full responsibility for it whether good or bad. The success or failure is for you to take and enjoy, like it anot.

If you are worker or PMET, join WDA for upgrade to keep yourself in line with our respective industry.

If you are self employed, work hard and contribute more to our society even if you make a lot of money. Remember this year donations is 5 times tax deductible.

5 years ago, I discussed this with Minister Chan Chun Sing. I told him locals have an uneven playing field. Not that locals were less hardworking. The landscape is piqued in foreigners' favour. He gave me Winston Churchill. Ask not what our country can do for us, but what we can do for our country. I am like wtf.

So I drew him to a specific example. I told him my India neighbour just had a son. His wife flew back to India to give birth. Two years ago, this India indian neighbour had a daughter. She was born in Singapore. Why was the birth location different for his son? The dad wanted him out of NS liabilities. Now, this same boy is going to compete with my NS bound son for a place in Primary school. How is it fair he gets his choice of primary school while as a citizen my son has just 1 extra ballot ticket (the policy then). This is in addition to my son lagging his son because of NS liability.

Minister Chan said he will look into it and highlight to the relevant departments. One year later, the primary school admission policy changed. Citizens are admitted in Phase 1 and 2. Phase 3 for non citizens.

My points?

1. If you keep quiet about unfair policies. Life goes on. Speak up.

2. The PAP government has openly acknowledged this inequality between local born and foreigners. It is a real and present issue. The traditional government thinking has shifted left of centre. All govt departments have different classifications and treatments for citizens, PR and foreigners. Lets not pretend I am writing something new here.

Whether you agree with me or not, the above is happening. Our 5 or 10 votes here is not going to make a lot of difference. Why don't we just sit back here, chill and relax. We lim kopi, chit chat, see show

U twit! Lolz i have been claiming d tax deduction since many years ago. Dun tell me u r goin to say im a foreigner?

The 300% tax deductible donation is for locals n foreigners who have stayed/worked in sg for 183 days or more.
Just simply call iras hotline n ask if u have doubts. I bet u will want to claim d donation too
