Re: Middle class Singaporean no more.....Sigh
No choice, since Sean69 posted I also must man up and post mine. Please don't flame me after this. I never claimed to be poor or middle income.
Everyone post their - Nationality: Singaporean born and bread locally. Did BMT in Tekong BMTC school 2. - Combined household income: Definitely in the top 1% - Value and type of housing they're staying in: Freehold Landed in district 10. - Value and number of additional assets they may own (investment house collecting how much income etc) : my own = 0 - Cash reserves: my own cash reserves + stocks, excluding trusts which I can't collect yet = S$1.45 - S$1.5m

Then please post yours as well. You can't expect him to post if you're hiding things yourself. I think I have the most to hide and I've already posted mine.

earn almost same as TS, yet claim yourself as Upper middle class. Unlike him, even dare to say he about to or already got squeezed out of middle class. To me, you earn so much (compare to me), yet live well within your means. Your attitude of live within your means is what many bros here trying to bring across to this cry father cry mother TS. In a way, although I agree maybe really need car for his case. BUT !!!!! If really can't support, no choice, where got die die want car still cry father cry mother. BTW, here's mine. - Nationality --> Singaporean.. Served 10 years in SAF, money issue, so suck thumb. - My household income --> less than 1.5k - Value and type of housing they're staying in --> 2room HDB (fully paid) - Value and number of additional assets they may own (investment house collecting how much income etc) --> none - Cash reserves --> only 3k+ (2-2.5 months buffer) Good thing I only need to take care of my mum. So still ok. Life goes on. |

Actually antimatter, did you leave the force because of medical issues? Otherwise if you stay on, I'm sure you'll be better paid than you are currently.

Re: Middle class Singaporean no more.....Sigh
I generally do not respond to haters. I mentioned a family of 7 (comprising of a couple, 3 kids, 2 parents) with a combined $10,000 household income has only $1,428 per person per household.
$10,000 ÷ 7 = $1,428 a month This means each person in his household is allocated only $1,428 a month. This is excluding parents in laws who are not staying with you, and who you still need to give money to every month or help in emergencies. So including parent in laws, $10,000 ÷ 9 = $1,111 a month This $1,111 has to be used to pay for food, children education, medical fees and care for aged parents/parent in laws. Is $1,111 a month for a person a lot? Can a person on $1,111 a month say our rapidly rising cost of living is acceptable? You decide. |

why cant you? the problem with you is you only think how poor you are, but still insist on most of the lifestyle( so call you see as your needs). True, you cut down on your durian, crabs. But the rest? You see as need, but if you don't earn that much? you still never provide us your details like what me and 2 other bros provide. Why? still don't dare ar, or thinking of how much reserves to put. Let me tell you, no matter how much you put, you will be slapping yourself. So is it 300k? 400k? 500k? 600k? 700k? 800k? or more? same thing, I bouy song is the way you talk back to fellow bros whom give you suggestions. Say so much problem. but simply refuse to absorb advice, who's the stubborn one? |

Please refer to my already mentioned posts. as they say, wussies gotta wuss. There is no better way to fool a fool who is convinced he is right. I am sure with his educated background of economics he can blast a shining light toward his future. Pun intended I must say, Sorry for TS you may be educated academically but you have a long way to go for life learning and stratagem.

I was a silent reader of this thread. to be frank, I agree with him starting. But start to bouy song he rejects peoples advice & starts to tell lies after lies. Anyone with simple maths will not say stupid lies of money the way he does. All his spending & savings just don't tally. So in one way or the other, his a liar. |

Re: Middle class Singaporean no more.....Sigh
Hope you pay it off soon. Most important thing is to have a roof over your head. If for some reasons your income is reduced at least you still have somewhere to stay. No harm paying it off early with your savings if you can. Because then you can start thinking of having an investment property as well.

Herein, the other aspect of my social experiment. How different segments of society respond to a common problem. There is a lot to learn and unlearn from discussions. One just needs a topic all is passionate about. |
