Voting opposition will not get you anything except telling the government of the day not to take your votes for granted. It is only recently that the ruling party has become more attentive. I think this makes sense. Minister Tan Chuan Jin once flashed a statistics that PRs at every percentile earns more than citizens. Meaning at the 10 percentile mark, PR earns more. 20 percentile PR earns more etc. He explained that PRs are selected based on their earning ability, hence this trend.

We are only at the 5.3m mark. When we become 6.9m, I shudder to think of the cost of our living then when richer PRs join us. Kopi can be $8 a cup and the majority of society opts for it so we lan lan.

Maybe this 6.9m policy is flawed? What you think?

Ah well, at least you gave quite a good review of TS (I've redacted several paragraphs of your original comment). Still, overall, I do agree that the cost of living is going up, without a corresponding increase in wage. But TS is comparing himself with the HNWI / UHNWIs, so obviously examples like him paying rental to a landlord with an exercise book full of properties is the exception, rather than the norm (referring to that landlord). Though TS tries to pass it off as there being more and more rich people, and compares himself to them and finds that he falls short.

Very much agree with TS.

Moving forward, we do not have a crystal ball on how the situation will turn out, maybe better, maybe worse. One thing is for sure, once price goes up, it will be very difficult for it to come down by itself.

Given how our country generate its revenue, we do not have much room to manoeuvre. That is a fact.
How can we increase our income ceiling, is also a great challenge as, how can we pay more? Employment is good here, and inflation is more on cost rather then demand.

The challenge ahead, is a great one. Not only do we have to struggle among ourselves, but also from incoming forces.

Vote for WP as Government may not mean drastic drop in cost of living but Singaporeans do not know as WP has no track record yet. At least Singaporeans know voting for PAP will definitely mean higher cost of living. Vote wisely at GE2016.
