The MCI defense was more efficient that blanked out any attempt to shoot at goal. Origi was definitelybetter that that head-less gorilla, who now should know who is in front in the pecking order as starting striker.

Those 2 MCI strikers, Silva and Aguerro, were slicky and dangerous in attacking. Liverpool should have one of those instead of that gorilla.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Let's put it this way, if you read what the pundits were saying before the match, no one gave Liverpool a chance, so to take the game to penalties was an achievement in itself.

Yes, the better team won, in fact City should have easily finished it off in the first 90 minutes but for Sterling's poor finishing and ironically Mignolet's great saves. That howler by Mignolet was truly terrible though.

Liverpool's midfield was once again very poor and unfortunately the 'big 3' upfront were not inspiring either, particularly Firmino and Sturridge. Henderson' s captain's armband also looks to be very much in doubt for next season I should think. As for Benteke, looks like he is on his way out as he did not get a sniff of the pitch.

Some positives though, Lucas was really solid once again at CB, got to feel for him when he missed his penalty as he was probably Liverpool's best player in this game. Origi was pretty good as well when he came off the bench and may well have won the match for the Reds at the end but for Caballero's match of the day performance.

Hope Klopp can pick the lads up, because there is still that big 2 leg Europa League tie against ManU to come.

Maybe it is J Klopp himself that is jinxed..... this is his 4th consecutive Cup Final that his team has lost (3 for B Dortmund + this one for LFC)

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

By now everyone would have calm down from thier disappointment of the Capital One Cup lost. If by now if Klopp and his team don't know which Liverpool players are bad they need a new pair of glasses .

Some observations from the match :

1) The front 3 players of Sturridge ; Coutinho and Firmino . Of the 3 only Coutinho showed up for work . The headless chicken don't know what he is doing always get caught offside . And finally Sturridge is still still not match fit . Towards the end he suffers leg cramps hope his injury is not too serious .

3) The midfield of Milner ; Can and Henderson . Lets face Milner was awful in taking corner kicks. Can did a lot of running and interceptions . As for Henderson the captain was such a let down . Totally flat . Didn't see him trying to inspire his team when they were 1 nil down .

3) The defense of Clyne ; Sakho ; Lucas and Moreno. Clyne had a decent game cutting off Sterling every chance he got . When City release they cannot get pass him they switch to Moreno's side and that almost did the trick. Was disappointed to see Sakho go off injured after a clash of heads with Emre Can . If I am not wrong these 2 players had another similar incident . Why can't these 2 players communicate to each other ? Lucas was immense . Was always there . Read the game well and even cover Moreno's backside. When Kol come on for Sakho Kolo was also immense . I hope Liverpool will give Kolo 1 more contract . As for Moreno everyboy can see he was the weakest link which City exploited . He was rightly subed later .

4) last but not least the goalkeeper how many times Liverpool lost a game or have dropped points because of this player? How many times must the fans put up with his poor performance . It doesn't mean he performed well in later of the game all it takes is just one mistake that can change the course of the game .

As Carragaher had pointed out after the game Liverpool need to urgently look for another goalkeeper and a left back . In the meantime Liverpool should drop Moreno and use Flanangan or Brad Smith .

Lately they have a problem scoring in Anfield..Seems to be playing better away than home! I don't remember Pool having a solid victory @home this season.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Pool needs to win this game against Man City for many reasons.

1. Make up for the League Cup loss with home win
2. Close the gap to Man U who are in fifth position
3. Widen the gap with Chelsea who are 2 positions below us
4. Work thru all players before offloading players at end of season

Injury update : Lucas and Sahko not available for tomorrow's match . It will be interesting to see how Klopp will pick his team.Since most of the senior team had only played last 3 days ? Benteke ; Origi ; Jordan Ibe ; lallana ; Joe Allen ; Kolo and Mignolet to start ? Left back is a big problem .

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

We have so many players to sell and I'm not sure where is Klopp going to start. Equally important will be the signings.

I'm guessing players such as Bogdan, Lallana, Allen, Benteke, Teixeira, Enquire and Toure will be sold or released.

Surely there will be risk selling players like Mignolet, Benteke or Moreno because they could go elsewhere and become better. Alternatively they could just spiral down.

Remember when David de Gea arrived at United during the 2011/12 season he was labelled the worst goalkeeper in the world.

Klopp has spoken......... and he says

Adam Bogdan is not good enough for a club like Liverpool..... will be released end of season.

Teixeira is talking personal terms with Fiorentina..... LFC has agreed in principle to let him go.

C Benteke is on the market...... at a discounted price of £20m.

Both J Enrique & K Toure contracts expire end of this season.... unlikely to be offered another one.

Klopp intends to bring in 6 players next season..... he oredi knows which players he wants..... J Matip & M Krujic are done deals..... 2 down 4 more to go.

LOL . Indeed a lot of the current players are not up to Liverpool's standard . We have to thank the transfer committee and the previous manager for screwing it up .

You forget to add Bolleteli . Also why are you always in an offside position in the last game ?

I hope Liverpool would give Kolo another 1 more contract extension. He deserved it .

Anyways don't expect too much from today's game with Man City at Anfield .
