Dear Bros,

My wife was deported back in the past and after tons and tons of appeal and waiting for many years, finally managed to get the approval and she is currently in SG now on a social visit pass (1 month).

I am intending to apply for her the long term visit pass so that she can stay here on a longer period. However given her past records, I have few questions as below that I hope some bros whom have similar experiences can share your info and advice for my reference.

1) Can I apply the LTVP through the normal online mode using e-VP or do I need to submit application form and documents directly to ICA like previously when I appeal for her entry to SG?

2) How good are her chances of getting the LTVP approval?

3) Since the evaluation for the LTVP will take abt 6 weeks and applicant has to be present during this period, can I extend the extend the short term visit pass via online or do I need to make a trip down to ICA building?

4) In the event if the LTVP submission is rejected and she will need to go back to her homeland, do I still need to submit appeal letter for her next entry to SG or I can apply visa for her to enter like normal applicant?

That's a good Start for sure ....

Why? ... It's the same scenario when I helped to appeal for my friend's girlfriend to come in ... since then she just come in as a normal tourist.

However, I need to stress ... its still as per case by case basis ....

LTVP only can apply via online. Only when u need to appeal, u do it ob=ver the counter like what you have did before.

No one can exactly tells you the chance !

However, since they allowed her to comes in ... the chances is defintely higher than before.

WHat need to think ... just apply ... only then you will know.

When u apply for LTVP, system will ask you to extend the current visit pass, only if you agreed to extend, then u can proceed to submit application for LTVP.

Else if you dun wish to apply for LTVP, you can apply for her to stay for 3 months.

Where is your wife from ? if china yes.. every time she comes she needs to apply for social visit pass ... else for other visa free country... she do not need to ...

when she can comes in, most likely the ban is lifted, However, like i said , its case by case basis depending on the case, u may need to or u may not need to ... its best to clarify with ICA !

I have been advised by ICA to translate and legalize my China marriage cert for the purpose of apply the LTVP.

Any bros have experience where and how to go about performing this task in an economical way?

Need help for my girl who got her visa rejected 2 times. She came to SG once 5 years ago and doesn't have any bad record. Any kind bros can help or give advise.

Chinese translation i dunno ... but its either:

1. China Embassy.. .. surr recognised!
2. Translation company that is recognised or appointed by the court or forrign affairs or ministry

Importantly .. need a legalised stamp on the documents as proof.

The only thing is continue to appeal !

Your girl = girlfriend, so not = wife.. . Nothing much u can coz ica wont tell you why it was rejected. .. see mp also not much use ... get lawyer waste $ n likely won't succeed either.

Simple reason.. . U n Her are NOT legally related ...

The only thing is keep appealing ... n try to pester ica for reasons.

That is what you think...how much u knew her past 5 yrs ago...if she was caught and deported by ICA...then depend on severity of offence...she will be banned for 3 to xx years or lifetime ban...

I remembered posting in this thread quite a couple of pages back and since then, I've successfully signed my ROM with my girlfriend and we'll be holding a wedding session next year end.

I've also recently just started my own business and my girlfriend(now wife) is helping me.

I have not contributed CPF or have any past records of working or tax filing so I was wondering if I'm still able to apply for LTVP?

Also, my wife has been in and out of Singapore more than 7 times with 2 extensions without any problems faced from ICA side.

I was just wondering, since she's officially married, and I need to show proof that I'm able to support her before I can even get to applying a LTVP, is she still subjected to the immigration laws of not being able to stay for more than 90 days within a 6 months period?

e.g. She comes to Singapore on 1st JAN. As such, her 6 months window will last until June 30th.

So within this 6 months, she can be in and out of Singapore as many times as she wants and once the total amount of time she's been here is over 90 days, she'll be barred from entry?

Does this rule still apply to foreign spouses who are legally married in Singapore and have yet to obtain a LTVP?

Rules are rules...but u just need to apply and no harm trying...good luck and congrats to your marriage...
