haha yeah true, if i were to consider earning $ from thailand or whichever place, definately not gonna do something that yields me just enough for 2 bowls of kao mun gai. i am currently contemplating on a biz in CR, but still considering and deciding cuz of the promised income i'll be able to geneerate. 1stly it has to get u more den enough for a SINGLE person to live by comfortably before i even think of bringing my girl down. otherwise that would just be pulling her into another sh!thole with me.

living standards damn high down there liao wor its like earning thai baht and paying for local food prices. how to earn 100k a mth hard lah,unless u angmoh lor or u sell opium but mae sai and inner tahchelik town already ban these activities long ago.kao mun gai also abt 40 baht liao singapore u can still find 1 buck chicken rice wor. the only way is to save enuff here and buy a hse settle down there and be a farmer lor

bro u so interested join me for orientation tour lor,frankly speakly there is nuting much there its very kampong and peaceful.the oni biz opportunity growth is in their property. u have millions baht u can buy a land build hses or rent out the rooms to those students there,franchise for a 24hrs conveninece store or build a htl there.its hard to carve out a niche there,but compare to bkk the capital required is smaller.

I've always think that if one is starting a business in Thailand because of tirak in Thailand, it will never work out, business will not make money.

However if one is starting a business for monetary purposes and only for monetary purposes then its worth doing.

Cheongsters I have met up before, in the past we always talked about starting a business in Thailand.

And I believed many people want to start a business in Thailand too.

I would say most had this mindset of starting a business in Thailand is because of

1) Tirak
2) So can stay in Thailand because Thailand low cost of living
3) So can find ways/avenues/opportunities to cheong.

It's only when it comes to the last part, profits that can generate from the businesss then people start to think harder.

To put it simply, if the first thing that comes to mind for a business was only money-driven and not tirak-driven then I think the business is worth planning and doing.

For those who are thinking of giving up their career/ business in Singapore to strike it out in an investment in Thailand, it simply is not worth it. Risk Takers are encouraged but stupidity is not.

No matter what we are not Khon Thais. Their government protects their interests, not ours, for in their eyes we are forever aliens.

I believe that no matter how much love there is between 2 parties, by giving up everything in Singapore to go to Thailand and settle roots doing business all for the sake of love, it will never work out. Especially if business fails, no money, the honey love you how much also will run away.

If I am dumping $50K SGD into a Singapore business and I dump $50K SGD into a Thailand business, and the Singapore Business earns more and generates more profit, it makes no cow sense to invest in the Thai Business because of tirakship. However this is what many people are doing/going to do.
