Short write-up:

This is one of the all time favourite with VN gals especially WLs, because everything in this song is about them and the way of life (as WLs) they chose (for their family) or were forced into(either cheated, kidnapped or sold by poor parents).

The MTV by Uyen Trang tells of a poor blind village gal who had no money to operate on her eyes. One day, a rich man and women came by and promised to treat her eyes for her and find her a job. With a heavy heart, she left her mother and boyfriend behind and heads to the city.

She did got the operation and was able to see but ended up forced to work as a WL to repay the debt.

The MTV is a bit naggy in the beginning but be patient and watch the flim and feel the meaning of the whole song with my translation. (Singing only starts at 2.23 min mark....)
