Just came back from hatyai and everything seems more or less the same. Its been a long 9 years since I went back and price remained around the same except for food.

Check in at lee garden plaza after landed in hatyai international airport. Went to the counter outside to get a minivan for 80 baht per pax. They require at least 10 pax before the van will go off. If you want faster service, then book a taxi for 300baht per car. If you have heavy luggage, they will add another 100-200baht.

After arriving at the hotel, check in was fast and we decided to go for our late lunch. Still remember the duck noodles thou its been 9 long years but understand that it is only open at night.

Therefore we settle at the seafood restaurant opposite pink lady as this was my favourite restaurant 9 yrs ago. Ordered crab fried rice, 2 big crayfish, sotong, pot of sharkfin for 2 and a veg. We brought along our DFS martel to go along with those food.

I feel the crab fried rice standard had drop over the years but my friend said its good. It used to be the best in thailand, even better than bangkok but thats purely my opinion and pls dun blame me if its not to ur standard.

Anyway the bill came to about 1350 baht. Definately the price had gone up but after so many years, I cant complain as we all know how cruel inflation has been to all especially food. It begin to dizzle and as we still have 3/4 of the martel left, we decided to check out pink lady which is just opposite.

Went to the pink lady cafe and was told they are open at 8.30pm local time. My friend want to shit therefore we decided to head back to our hotel for a short rest before going. We reached the pink lady cafe at abt 9pm and asked them how much is the cockage for our martell.

Was told 200baht and to me its quite cheap but it also depend on the amount left on your bottle. If its a full bottle, I think should be 300-500 baht, of cos its best to ask them first. We settle into their Vip KTV room which is another 300 baht for the whole night. Inside the room you can smoke and play those songs to sing or just listen.

We got 1 singer for each of us and their tips was 500 baht. They will come in whenever they are not singing. They will ask you for flowers but you dun have to buy as the 500 baht is enough for them. If you like them, you can bring them out before 11.30pm , 11.30pm or after their work at 1.30am.

Bar fine is as follow: before 11:30pm 2000baht, 11:30pm onwards is 1000baht and free after their work. They have a lot of shows, some in bikini and soapy show where they will rubba with each other on stage. Just tell the mummy which ger u like and they will come to you. Just tip the mummy 200-400 baht after everything.

We brought 3 gers out after 11:30pm and the bill for the mixer, ice, room, fruits came up to 1500 baht before those bar fine and tips. Its a bit expensive but for those show and puying, I feel still ok lar. Gers wise is between 21-29 yrs old. Some really pretty but not all will go hotel with you.

You have to tell mummy before hand if its your intention to bring them to hotel and she will arrange those that will go with u. Overall, my friend got 1 ger thats willing to go and he told me service was good. look wise abt 7/10Price is 3000 baht till morning 9-10am. As its our first day, I decided to look see first before I commit to a ger.

After pink lady, we went to kiss channel. The concept is a bit canto pub and it brought back memories of william scorpion era. Drinks are a bit on the high side. 1 tower cost 1200 baht excluding ice. Ice per tub is 70 baht. we stay till it close and the bill is 1800++ . As we still haven had enough, the gers suggest we go to ice bar as its closing time is much later at 4am local time.

The place is like a pub with good renovation. Drinks is much cheaper over here at 700 baht per tower. As we are getting high and shack, we nv check on the items we ordered but just paid the bill of 1700 baht. Im sure they over charge us as the 2nd day, I make sure I check everything and the bill is only 770 baht.

On the 2nd day, I managed to eat my duck noodle and it still taste the same after so many years. Im not sure is it the same stall but im happy with the food. It cost 50 bahts now compare to 35 baht that time. Overall its been a wonderful trip where we went to many places and Im sure i will be back in no time. Its a trip where overwhelming memories came flowing back and theres no way to describe my feelings but I sure enjoy my time and treasure it. Signing off now and cheong while you can. chok dee na.

I am a filipino working in singapore. My company is closed for 10 days during the chinese new year. I am thinking of making a trip to hatyai. Do I need to apply for a visa or will my singapore employment pass + philipine passport suffice. It will be my first time there.

My company is a chinese company that's why they will be closed for 10 days.
I donch want to go back to manila coz that will mean spending a lot of money for pasalubong, I might as well use the money to do some sight seeing around the region. The singaporeans I work with or come across in daily life are mostly very nice people, how come this forum is so racist?

3rd & 4th day of CNY definitely not a very good time to visit Hatyai.Costs of every things will go up especially hotels(if you can get a room)& companions.But if you are willing to spent then I suppose it's OK.

As far as I know no visa is required to visit Thailand for nationals of the Philippines as well as other members of the ASEAN countries.So feel free to enjoy yourself & don't forget to give a report of your trip.

Technically citizens of ASEAN countries are allowed 21 days visa free travel across borders but the respective immigration authorities have the discretion to deny entry to those they deem to be undesirable visitors.

Storm warning for the South

People in 10 southern provinces, particularly those living near the coastline, in low-lying areas and on mountain slopes, are warned that heavy rain, flash floods, strong wind and high waves are expected between Dec 29 and Jan 1, Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department chief Wiboon Sanguanpong announced on Wednesday.

The 10 provinces are Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Yala, Pattani, Satun, Narathiwat, Krabi and Trang.

Mr Wiboon said the people should closely monitor weather forecasts and strictly follow all warnings.

Small boats should remain ashore during this period, he said.
