Just wondering if anyone can verify this. KTV gals serving local citizens (chinaman) are charging different rates from us foreigners. Example, we pay 3,7,10. But if you are a china citizen, you only pay 2,5,7. It applies to most KTVS like Yihao, Mayflower, etc.

Is this true?

So what can u do? It is only right since they are local. Many countries do that.........except sinkieland . Foreigners always got better deal.

I seriously doubt it. It's highly unlikely.

Price categories are all over the place online including Chinese forums (visited mainly by Chinese).

And I believe that mamasans usually have no way of telling whether you're a foreigner or not if you only ask for the price category of a particular girl unless your accent is too strong.

Plus, 2/5/7 is just too ridiculously low for nowadays...

U got a point there. I think maybe it applies to some smaller establishments which are not known to us. Bigger ktvs want to attract higher net worth clients. Locals who patronisr their joints are fully capable of paying what foreigners pay. Maybe even more.......

I asked the mm in the bigger KTVs. They say no. The rates are the same for sg, hk, or locals. They also don't get many locals. The locals they entertain are the more powerful people like generals, office holders, etc. and they don't pay.
