44 arrested in connection to commercial sex with minor charged today
Updated 11:36 AM Apr 16, 2012 SINGAPORE - 44 persons have been arrested in connection with a case of commercial sex with a minor, and they will be charged in court today, said the police in a statement released this morning in response to media queries. The arrests follow an investigation earlier this year into an online vice ring - which allegedly involved an underaged girl - that sparked furore when it emerged that among those being investigated included a former school principal and several public servants. According to ST, another 40plus more will be charged at a later date. So the total number to be charge this time will be around 80s which include a school principal, a managing director, a naval officer, businessmen, finance industries professionals and an Indonesian entrepreneur. Veteran criminal lawyer Subbas Anandan, who is representing 13 men, said most of his clients had to report to the Police Headsquarters on Saturday and were served charges. It will be like "million dollar round table club" tomorrow in the local papers after the court case today. For once at least I think CP really do many Sporean good. Otherwise, the figure may be 800 plus instead. But it really serve as a warning for SYT lovers to be more careful.....
