Bro...I normally combine the Danok trip and Hatyai trip together as I love the food in Hatyai mainly I know where to eat after so many years there......love to have you along and we can share info and explore together the new/grey area...hahhahah!

Haven’t been actively cheong Hatyai for sometime now....retired already until some bros..drag me out again as a "guide", but I must say that things have change tremendously lately with Danok coming up the cheonging scene!

Agrees with you I, too started off with Hatyai as when I started to cheong Thailand....Danok doesn't exist as a entertainment town....just cashew nut and some shop selling rice and so forth!

When I am Hatyai the next trip...I will check out on some of the old famous eating place in Hatyai, for one I am sure still exist as I was there last 2 months ago is the Famous Beef Noodle opposite JB Hotel. Still packed with Singaporean and Malaysian.

Certainly.....it would be my pleasure to show you around and like you says "didn't even notice Danok" but I did drop in Danok many years ago and all the left over and CMI were in Danok mainly for the older guys from Kedah and Perlis...short game as those days immigration closes at 6pm and then extend to 10pm.

But I have to admit that Hatyai town of beauty from all over Thailand especially from Changmai and Changrai....even Bangkok were there....it is happening those days...Danok no fight.

Having said that nowadays Danok is coming up very fast, thanks to the first bombing of Hatyai near Ocean Plaza. So Hatyai is slowing turning into sleeping hollow.....again....I hope not as when I eat pak gor in Hatyai I seize the opportunity to try out different famous eating places......I really enjoy that!

I even watch Thai movie...English original version in sound room. I miss the good old days when the puying from Hatyai, fill the tube for you.....luke warm water...un-pack your shirt, take off your shoes...massage you while the water is filling up....hmmmmmm...gone are those days! Not to mention crocodile tears when you leave.....never get the chance to find out whether they are actually real tears....or.............!
