To be fair to the guy..he still think of tipping..basic idea is still good. He just have no idea abt the norms lah. For bros who intend to tip..10 to 20 % would be a decent amount for a massage girl. In bars and gogos a 20 baht tip is already appreciated.

Bro Soi6 serious ah, a decent tip to the Massage lady is 10-20% of the massage price ? If the lady cost 10,000baht decent tip would be at least 1000baht??Honestly didn't know of this norm, thanks for the awareness bro

10-20% tip seem about what I tip too. My tipping habits

Restaurant service staff: 20, 40 or 50 depending on bill
Hotel porters, doormen, guards : 20
Hotel receptionists : 100, 200 if 8 and above
Beer bar service staff : 20, 40
Beer bar hostesses : 50, 100
Jin jin massage : 40, 50. Never 0 as service usually acceptable
Agg service staff : 20, 40 or 50 depending on bill but I don't spend big here
Agg girls : ST 200-500, 0 if poor service. LT: don't do it no more
MP room cleaning maids : 20
MP mamasan : 100, only if familiar n friendly
MP girls : 200 - 500, depending on service. Never 0, as service usually ok
Soapy room cleaning maids : 20, I tell the girl not to give anymore.
Soapy papasan : 100, only if familiar n friendly
Soapy girls : 500, 1000. Usually take those 5000 and above category only
FLs : 200 - 500, but I do very few FLs these days
G clubs : don't do G clubs
BJ Bar : don't do, scare STDs esp if bbbj
Escorts : don't do as 1) pricey n 2) u have to commit without looking.

Lol Treemon99, please don't raise your tipping on account of me. To each his own lah. We are all at different stages of our lives, with different budgets, different outlooks on life, different spending habits, different cheong styles, etc.

Jai Dee nothing lah. I do have empathy for all the service staff who don't really earn a lot. And as for the WLs, while they do earn well above the average Thai worker, it's still a hard job. Selling your body is not exactly nice or ideal work. All these IMHO of course. I am not drumming up support for any groups of people.

What I do find poignant are the mothers with kids begging and sleeping by the walkways n under bridges along Sukhumvit. So for those with a spare baht bill or coin......

Bro..if you can afford a 10 k massage girl..what is another 1k? Anyway..soapy massage girls I have never tipped before..just paid her fee. I never give to papasan either. Well..maybe only once to Honey 2 mamasan in Pattaya cos she really cute herself.

Traditional massage places I give more. In Pattaya the place I go is 100 baht per hour for Thai massage. So 2 hrs I give a 100 baht tip.

Since I live in Patts I dont tip my apt block cleaners or security.Only bought them food some times. If I stay hotels I do the same if the front staff are friendly enough.

I more kiniyow than bro oolouis I guess..cos I rarely give to beggars..the most 10 baht.

WLs also I never tip.Just their agreed fee.

Lol, that was exactly my thinking when I tipped 1k to the 6k Nattaree Chiangrai fair beautiful 1.68m 18yo, recently. N twice 1k to the 5k Nattaree girl I repeated, Lao, 1.7m, fair, beautiful, fresh, good service. They fully deserve the tip I thought.

I don't consider punters who tip little or don't tip as kiniyow at all. Similarly those who tipped big time n ring the bar bell repeatedly as spendthrift. As I said, we all have different outlooks and perspectives to life. To each his own.
